노인병원 간호사의 노인에 대한 지식과 태도 및 노인간호 교육요구도

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인병원 간호사의 노인에 대한 지식과 태도 및 노인간호 교육요구도를 파악하기 위하여 실시하였다.
자료수집은 2006년 9월 11일부터 9월 28일까지 이루어졌으며, 연구설계는 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상은 연구군으로 D 광역시 소재 3개 대학병원에서 근무하는 간호사 101명을 선정하고, 대조군으로 5개 노인병원에 근무하는 간호사 109명을 선정하여 구조화된 설문지를 사용하여 조사하였다.
자료분석은 SPSS WIN 14.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, χ2-test, t-test, Pearson`s correlation coefficient를 이용하여 분석하였다.
본 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
1. 노인에 대한 지식은 노인병원 간호사의 평균 정답률이 51.1%, 대학병원 간호사의 평균 정답률이 53.3%로 두 집단의 지식간에 유의한 차이는 없었다.
2. 노인에 대한 태도는 노인병원 간호사가 79.14점, 대학병원 간호사 78.66점으로, 두 집단의 태도간에 유의한 차이는 없었다.
3. 노인간호 교육요구도는 노인병원 간호사가 4.07점, 대학병원 간호사 3.95점으로 두 집단의 교육요구도간에 유의한 차이는 없었다.
4. 노인병원 간호사(r=.396, p<.01)와 대학병원 간호사(r=.346, p<.01)의 노인에 대한 지식과 태도간에는 정 상관관계가 있었고, 노인에 대한 지식과 노인간호 교육요구도(r=.331, p<0.1), 노인에 대한 태도와 노인간호 교육요구도(r=.242, p<0.5)는 노인병원 간호사에서 정 상관관계가 있었다.
이상의 연구결과를 통하여 노인병원 간호사들의 노인에 대한 지식은 낮은 수준이고, 노인에 대한 태도는 중립적인 범위를 벗어나진 않았지만 부정적인 쪽으로 약간 치우쳐 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 노인에 대한 지식 수준을 높일 수 있다면 노인에 대한 태도를 보다 긍정적으로 변화시킬 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 노인병원 간호사들의 노인에 대한 지식을 향상시키고 태도를 긍정적으로 변화시키기 위해서, 간호사들의 노인간호 교육요구도를 고려한 실무 교육 프로그램의 개발이 필요하며, 이를 통한 계속적인 실무교육이 이루어져야 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigation the nurses knowledge and attitudes toward the old adult and geriatric nursing education needs in geriatric hospital.
The data collection was performed from September 11 to September 28, 2006. The research design was descriptive study. Study group was composed of 101 nurses working in five Geriatric hospitals and control group was composed of 109 nurses working in three University hospitals in D city. The measuring instrument of knowledge and attitudes toward the old adult and geriatric nursing education needs used the questionnaires method.
The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, SD, χ²- test, t-test and Pearson`s correlation coefficient using SPSS Win 14.0.
The results of this study were as follows;
1. Geriatric hospitals Nurses` success rate to choose the right answer toward the old adult was 51.1%. University hospitals nurses` success rate to choose the right answer toward the old adult was 53.3%. Knowledge toward the old adult weren`t significantly different between Geriatric hospitals nurses and University hospitals nurses.
2. Geriatric hospitals Nurses` attitudes score toward the old adult was average of 79.14. University hospitals Nurses` attitudes score toward the old adult was average of 78.66. Attitude toward the old adult weren`t significantly different between Geriatric hospitals Nurses and University hospitals nurses.
3. Geriatric hospitals Nurses` nursing education needs score was average of 4.07. University hospitals nurses` nursing education needs score was average of 3.95. Nursing education needs weren`t significantly different between Geriatric hospitals Nurses and University hospitals Nurses.
4. The correlation between nurses knowledge and attitude toward old adult in Geriatric hospital(r=.396, p<.01) and University hospital(r=.346, p<.01) showed significant positive value. The correlation between nurses knowledge toward old adult and geriatric nursing education needs(r=.331, p<0.1) and between nurses attitudes toward old adult and geriatric nursing education needs(r=.242, p<0.5) in Geriatric hospital showed significant positive value.
Considering the above result, the level of Geriatric hospital nurses' knowledge toward old adult was relatively low. Although the average attitude score was in a neutral range, the number of items in a negative attitude score range were more than those in a positive attitude score range. Nurses with greater knowledge on aging reported more positive attitudes toward the old adult. Therefore there is a need to develop continuing education programs to increase the knowledge and positive attitudes and to apply these programs routinely to maintain and reinforce the nurses` knowledge and attitudes.
