The purpose of this study was to investigate in the research on the job stress of the teachers and promoting the quality and effectiveness of job ability by investigating the factors of job stress and analyzing the ways to get rid of job stress in the special schools for the physical and multiple disabilities. To achieve this goal, the details of this study is to clarify the characteristics of job stress and the coping with behaviors of the teachers in the special schools for the physical and multiple disabilities. and to analyze the correlation between job stress and coping with behaviors.
For this study, survey research was conducted among 187 teachers from 7 special schools for the physical and multiple disabilities. in Seoul, Kyeonggi and Incheon province. The main measurement was to use two questionnaires that measured the degree of job stress and the ways to cope with job stress. For the data analysis, The retuned questionnaires were analyzed by using SPSSWIN 12.0 program. For the statistical analysis, average and standard deviation in every question was produced. T-test and F-Test were carried out to find out coping with behaviors of the teachers who got job stress in the special schools for the physical and multiple disabilities. The correlational analysis was done to find out the correlation between job stress and coping with behavior of teachers in special school for the physical and multiple disabilities.
The results of the study were as follows;
First, the degree of the job stress of the teachers in the special schools for the physical and multiple disabilities. is above average. The research also indicates that stress coming from the physical symptoms is highest. In the degree of job stress according to sex, female teachers get more stress than male teachers. And the teachers under one year in teaching profession is the highest in the stress level according to the period of job. In the degree of job stress according to school grade, the primary school teachers is the highest stressed group.
Second, the coping with behaviors of the teachers in the special schools for the physical and multiple disabilities. shows teachers' behaviors in pursuit of social support are the highest. The coping with behaviors according to sex doesn't indicate any meaningful differences statistically. In the component of the coping with behaviors according to the period of job, there was a meaningful difference only in problem-centered behaviors. The coping with behaviors of job stress indicates there was a meaningful differences in the component of relaxing emotion.
Finally, when it comes to the correlation between job stress and coping with behavior of the teachers, job stress was statically correlated with the coping with behavior in pursuit of emotion-relaxing, social support and wishful thinking.
