윤리경영 실천 노력과 재무성과와의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 기업들이 비윤리적 행위로 인해 엄청난 손실을 입는 것뿐만 아니라 기업 자체가 파산하여 사라지는 사례들이 증가함으로써 기업의 윤리경영에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지고 있다.
이에 따라 국제기구들은 윤리라운드를 통해 윤리경영의 세계표준화를 시도하고 있다. 대표적으로 OECD는 1997년 ‘OECD 국제상거래뇌물방지협약’을 채택하여 이를 위반한 기업의 국제시장 진입 자체를 차단하는 방안을 모색 중이다. 우리나라 정부도 1999년 ‘부패방지 종합대책’ 마련을 시작으로 반부패기본법의 입법과 국가계약법 시행령 개정을 추진하며 기업들의 윤리경영을 독려하고 있다. 아울러 외환위기 이후 기업에 대한 국민들의 높아진 기대심리는 시민단체와 인터넷의 확산으로 기업들에게 영향을 미치고 있다.
이같은 국내외 경영환경의 변화에 힘입어 국내에서도 위기관리 차원에서 윤리경영을 기업활동의 핵심요소로 인식하기 시작했으나 아직은 대부분의 기업들이 시급한 경영과제로 받아들이지는 않고 있다. 그러므로 일부 기업을 제외한 대부분의 기업들이 윤리경영을 위한 구체적인 실천이 미흡한 실정이다.
따라서 기업들의 윤리경영활동에 대한 구체적인 실천을 위해서는 윤리경영이 곧 경제적 이익으로 연결된다는 인식이 조속히 확립되어야만 한다.
본 연구 목적은 기업의 윤리경영이 기업의 경제적 이익과 관련성이 있다는 것을 확인하고자 하는 것이다. 이 같은 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서 본 논문은 산업정책연구원의 KoBEX 지수를 이용하여 상위그릅과 하위그릅의 재무성과에 대한 차이검증과 기업의 윤리경영 실천 노력과 재무성과와의 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해서 기업의 윤리경영 실천 노력이 재무성과와 관련이 있음을 검증하였다.
본 연구는 윤리경영에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 시점에서 윤리경영을 실천하려는 노력이 기업의 재무성과와 관련되는 것을 나타냄으로써 윤리경영을 제도로서 도입하는 것으로 그치는 것이 아니라 모든 직원들이 실질적으로 실천을 위한 노력을 기울여야 함을 시사해준다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Business ethics is one of the most urgent issues facing Korean firms in the currently globalized business environment. The representative example justly is Enron situation that shook United States America economy. Therefore, business ethics of company which coincide to company's global standard of competitive power in long-termer viewpoint which is not moral principle administration looked simply. It must be practice.
Business ethics request about our country companies increased greatly. Government and civic group's pressure is rising to domestic with international organization which same to WTO, OECD, IT. Business ethics become necessary condition of company survival.
Business ethics is the application of general ethical ideas to business ideas to business behavior. Also business ethics is moral value and decision-making, which can give harm or profit to variety stakeholders and society. However, a corporate cannot exist without making a profit, we are wonder that which effect between business ethics and profit is exist.
For this question, this paper examined relationship between corporate profit and business ethics. The estimating of business ethics is using the KoBEX(Korean Business Ethics Index) score, which is published 2004 by The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies and internal ethical environment including CEO's will, operation of ethical management system, education, and training.
Under the T-test, there were difference between upper group and lower group. It means that effective exists between business and financial performance. There were significant correlation between internal ethical environment including CEO's will, operation of ethical management system, education, and training and financial performance.
This paper examined not appealing conscience but also showing hoe much related with business ethics and corporate profit. The results suggest that a decision making related with future business activity is thought over which things to be considered.
