유아국악교육을 효과적으로 지도하는 방법 : 장구장단을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

유아기의 음악교육에 있어서 국악을 접하는 것은 민족의 전통문화를 이해하고 계승, 발전시킴은 물론이고 한 민족으로서의 정체감을 형성시키는데 중요한 의의를 갖는다.
본 연구는 유아국악교육의 효과적인 방법을 알아보고자 일반적인 어린이집에서 보편적으로 이루어지고 있는 국악수업과 본 연구자가 신체활동ㆍ동물그림악보를 이용하여 개발한 지도안을 각각 만들고 실제 수업을 통하여 두 가지 지도법이 얼마만큼의 차이가 있는지 알아보는 것이 목적이다.
연구방법은 보편적으로 이루어지고 있는 국악수업과 본 연구자가 신체활동ㆍ동물그림악보를 이용하여 개발한 지도안으로 교육받은 집단과의 차이점을 알아보고자 서울시 1개의 어린이집, 7세의 1학급 26명을 실험집단과 통제집단을 나누어 5주에 걸쳐 수업을 실시하였다. 1주부터 5주까지 지도안을 기초로 한 각각 10차시로 구성된 학습지도안을 가지고 실제 수업을 통해 학습한 후 마지막 6주에 평가를 실시하였다.
유아들이 장단의 리듬을 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 장단부호악보를 동물그림악보로 변형시켜 지도하였다. 변형시킨 동물그림악보를 효과적으로 인식시키기 위해 사다리표를 사용하여 지도하였으며, 또한 동물그림악보로 변형시킨 장단을 크게 확대하여 유아들이 직접 신체활동을 통하여 리듬을 직접 체험해보도록 하였다.
이 연구를 토대로 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
첫째, 동물그림악보를 통해 장구장단을 익힌 유아들이 장구부호악보를 통해 장구장단을 익힌 유아들보다 악보를 더 잘 볼 수 있었다.
둘째, 신체활동을 통해 동물그림악보를 익힌 유아들이 장구부호악보를 눈으로 익힌 유아들보다 더 효과적으로 장단을 습득하는 것을 볼 수 있었다.
셋째, 신체활동ㆍ동물그림악보를 이용한 학습지도안이 전통적인 학습지도안에 비해 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다.
실제 유치원 국악교육 현장에 바르고 정확한 자료들이 필요하며, 비전공자가 아닌 국악 전공자가 유아들을 직접 지도해야 체계적이고 정확한 교육이 이루어질 것이다. 이론과 악기만으로 가르치는 수업이 아니라 유아들이 직접 체험하고, 느낄 수 있는 국악수업이 이루어져야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The young childhood is a very important period in children's life as they can understand, succeed, and develop their nation's traditional culture by getting exposed to Korean traditional music and create an identity as Koreans.
This study set out to investigate the effective ways to deliver the education Korean traditional music to young children. For that purpose, the investigator developed a lesson plan using physical activities and animal picture scores and applied to classes. The newly developed teaching method was compared with the conventional lessons of Korean traditional music to see how much difference there would be between them.
The conventional lessons of Korean traditional music were given to the subject children along with the teaching plan developed by the investigator using the physical activities and animal picture scores. A class of 26 seven year olds at a kindergarter in Seoul was divided into the experiment and control group. After the lessons, they were put to tests. The first five weeks consisted of ten lessons to each other group. There was an evaluation of the children in the sixth week.
For the new teaching plan, the old score of Janggu symbols turned into animal picture scores so that the children could access the rhythm. A ladder table was used to help them understand the altered animal picture scores more effectively. The beats from the scores were enlarged so that they could experience rhythm personally through physical activities.
The research findings were as follows:
First, the children that learned the Janggu beats using the animal picture scores read the scores better than the children used the traditional score of Janggu symbols.
Second, the children that learned to read the animal picture scores through physical activities learned the beats more effectively than the children that used only eyes.
Third, the teaching plan using physical activities and animal picture scores was more effective than the conventional teaching plan.
There should be right and accurate materials provided to the kindergartens for the education of Korean traditional music. Systematic and accurate education can be possible not by nonmajors but by the majors of Korean traditional music. The lessons should involve young children's experiencing and feeling personally in addition to theories and instruments.
