유아 음악극 활동이 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Young Children's Music Drama Activity on Children's Emotional Intelligence

The aim of study is to investigate the effects of the young children's music drama activity on children's emotional intelligence.
The questions for research were as follows;
First, What is the effect of the young children's music drama activity on children's emotional intelligence?
Second, What is effect of the young children's music drama activity on children's emotional intelligence according to age?
Third, What is effect of the young children's music drama activity on children's emotional intelligence according to gender?
The subjects of this research were 48 four, five year-old children who selected from two children's House in J city(experimental group: 24, control group: 24). Experimental group had the young children's music drama activity twice a week for eight weeks and control group listened to story and didn't young children's music drama activity. Pretest was conducted for the two groups before beginning the young children's music drama activity. Posttest conducted the young children's music drama activity for eight weeks to improve the children's emotional intelligence in experimental group with the same method as the pretest. This research used emotional intelligence evaluation instrument developed by Lee Young-Ja, Lee Jong-Suk and Shin Eun-Su (2000) with rating scale observation to measure emotional intelligence. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in pretest.
Experimental procedures were preliminary test, pretest, experimental treatment for eight weeks and posttest. The analysis of results of evaluating children's emotional intelligence used ANCOVA program.
The results of this study are as follows;
First, it is found that experimental group which conducted the young children's music drama activity had significantly higher intelligence scores than the control group without the young children's music drama activity.
Second, the effect of young children's music drama activity on the influence of role play through story on children's emotional intelligence showed a significant difference between the two groups. And scores of the five-year children were higher than those of the four-year children in experimental group.
Third, the results of research on the effect of young children's music drama activity on children's emotional intelligence suggested that there was a statistically significant difference in male and female children in experimental group according to sex and female children got higher scores than male children.
From the results of this research, the effects of the young children's music drama activity on children's emotional intelligence. Accordingly, when he young children's music drama activity is used actively in educational field, children's emotional intelligence can be improved effectively.
