본 연구는 시설보호아동의 성장·발달 뿐 아니라 대인관계나 사회 적응에서도 매우 중요한 요소라 할 수 있는 정서지능과 대인불안에 문제가 있기에, 이러한 능력을 증진시키기 위한 정서지능과 대인불안에 관한 집단미술치료 프로그램을 개발하고, 프로그램의 효과를 검증하였다.
이와 같은 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 시설보호아동의 미술활동을 통해 자기의 정서를 표현하고 집단구성원들과의 상호작용을 통해, 정서지능 향상과 대인불안을 감소시키는데 목적을 두었다.
프로그램을 개발하기 위해 우선 프로그램의 기반 이론이 되는 정서지능, 대인불안, 집단미술치료 등에 대한 이론을 탐색하였다. 그리고 프로그램 구성을 위한 내용의 준거 틀을 아동의 발달이론과 과제를 중심으로 하고 방법의 준거틀로 집단미술치료를 사용하여 회기별로 주제와 내용을 구성하였다.
연구 대상은 M시에 위치한 아동양육시설 2곳에서 생활하고 있는 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 아동 24명을 유의표집으로 선정하였고, 이 중에서 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실시할 실험집단이 10명, 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실시하지 않은 통제집단 11명 등 총 21명으로 구성되었으며, 프로그램은 전반, 중반, 후반으로 나누어 주 1회 60분 동안 총 16회기로 구성되었다. 전반부는 본 프로그램을 소개하고, 매체에 대한 편안함과 자기 표현과 관련된 주제로 구성되었다. 중반부에는 본격적인 활동을 통해 정서지능과 대인불안의 향상을 중심으로, 후반부에는 이전 활동을 통해 정서지능과 대인불안을 향상시킴은 물론이고 실생활에 이를 적용할 수 있도록 구성하였다.
개발된 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 사전·사후 실험설계를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석은 통계적 방법에 의한 양적 분석과 질적 분석을 병행하였다.
이에 본 연구에서 밝혀진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 정서지능과 대인불안 프로그램은 시설보호아동의 정서지능 향상과 대인불안 감소에 효과가 있었다.
둘째, 정서지능과 대인불안 프로그램 종결 1개월 후에 실시한 추후조사에서 프로그램의 효과성이 지속되고 있었다.
이와 같은 내용과 목적을 가진 정서지능과 대인불안 프로그램은 시설보호아동의 정서지능 향상과 대인불안 감소뿐만 아니라 긍정적 자아상과 대인관계 훈련의 기회도 경험할 수 있었다.
정서지능과 대인불안 프로그램의 개발은 아동의 정서적 안정을 위한 국내 후속 연구를 위한 초석이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The study was designed to examine the effect of group art therapy developed for enhancing emotional intelligence and interpersonal anxiety in institutionalized children.
This study is aimed at improving Emotional Intelligence and reducing Interpersonal anxiety of institutionalized children through art activities which use self-emotion expression.
To establish, the above we studied the theoretical aspect of Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal anxiety using art therapy. This formed the most basic part of the program.
The main framework used was the theory of child development. As a result The tasks consisted of themes and contents that used art therapy within the group.
There were 24 participants who were living in 2 sheltered accommodations in M City and also elementary school students from grades 4, 5, and 6.
10 participants : use art therapy program,
11 participants : no experiments
The program was divided into 3parts ; the first, mid and last.
Each session was 60 mins and there were a total of 16 sessions.
In the 1st session, we introduced the program and ensured the participants felt comfortable with using the media related to the program and the themes related to self-expression.
The mid session was fundamentally concerned with starting Emotional Intelligence and was centered on Interpersonal anxiety.
The last session used to improve Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal anxiety that was introduced in the mid program and enable its use in real life situations.
To prove this program, we used pre-test and post-test.
The data which was already collected was analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Conclusion;
First, the Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal anxiety Program helped institutionalized children improve their emotional Intelligence and reduce their Interpersonal anxiety.
Second, 1 month after the end of the program, the effect of the program could still be observed in the latter investigation.
Also Institutionalized Children were able to experience not only improved emotional Intelligence and reduced interpersonal anxiety but also experience training that would help them to form interpersonal relationships in the future.
We expect that the Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal anxiety program would be a cornerstone for children's emotional stabilization and continuous study
