Ⅰ. Purpose of the study
As they are called Net Generation, N generation begins their everyday life with various types of multimedia including mobile phones, electronic dictionaries and computers (MP3, PMP, PDA, etc.) and use telephones, e-mails, text messages, screen chatting, etc. They are reluctant to put down their cellular phone from their hand. Growing in the background of wireless Internet, N generation are believed to have ways of thinking, lifestyles and job attitudes different from those in the older generation. In fact, not only N generation but also the old generation is familiar with the Internet and frequently uses e-mails and text messages as major communication means, though varying according to individuals , but they use these media at need and their mentality is not attached to digital media as much as they take virtual space for the reality as N generation does.
Thus, the present study purposed to analyze factors determining job involvement in N generation workers in their 20s and to provide basic materials necessary for vocational counseling and making policies related to unemployment.
Ⅱ. The analysis
The subjects of this study were workers in their 20s living in Gyeonggi do and Seoul. A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed and 460(92%) were recovered. Excluding questionnaires answered inappropriately, we used 449 questionnaires in the final analysis.

The sub factors of personal characteristics were gender, education, employment duration and occupation, the sub factors of workplace characteristics were motive for accomplishment, co-worker relation, superior relation and compensation, and the sub factors of job characteristics were job autonomy, functional diversity, task importance and task identity. Collected data were processed using SPSS 10.0 for Windows, and analyzed through frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, t-test, one way ANOVA and correlation analysis.
Ⅲ. Results

First, job involvement was difference between N generation and the older generation. In the sub factors of job involvement, N generation showed lower job involvement than the older generation.
Second, personal characteristics appeared to affect the job involvement of workers in their 20s. Difference in job involvement according to gender was significant in the sub factors of job involvement except compensation. According to education, job involvement was significantly different in the sub factors except co-worker relation. Job involvement according to employment duration was slightly different in superior relation, co-worker relation and job autonomy but not in other factors. Job involvement according to occupation was not significantly different in superior relation and job autonomy but showed significant difference in motive for accomplishment, co-worker relation, compensation, functional diversity, task importance and task identity.
Third, according to the result of analyzing the correlation between workplace characteristics and job involvement, job involvement was high when motive for accomplishment was high, when superior relation or co-worker relation was satisfactory and when the degree of compensation was high.
Fourth, according to the result of analyzing the correlation between job characteristics and job involvement, job involvement was high when job autonomy was high, when functional diversity was high and when task importance and task identity were high.
In conclusion, as clearly evidenced by the older generation's view that the job attitude of workers in their 20s who make important conversations with customers using messengers may lower work efficiency, there were remarkable differences between the older generation and N generation in their job involvement. In addition, significant difference was observed in job involvement according to the personal characteristics, job characteristics and workplace characteristics of workers in their 20s.
