한국 부모의 양육태도 차원연구 = (A) Study on Eho Dimensions of child-rearing attitude of Korean Parents

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 한국 부모들의 양육태도에 내재한 차원을 찾고 한국 부모들의 전형적인 양육방식을 개념화하여 우리나라 양육태도 연구 자료로 활용하고자 하는 것이다.
본 논문의 연구방법은 김해시에 위치한 사립유치원 교사 19명을 대상으로 한국 부모의 양육태도에 관한 형용사를 수집하기 위하여 설문지조사를 하였으며, 한국 부모의 양육태도 차원을 검출하기 위하여 양육태도 형용사 수집을 통해 부모의 양육태도 형용사를 수집한 후 수정·보안 단계를 거쳐 최종적으로 44개의 양육방식을 나타내는 형용사를 추출하였다. 44개의 형용사 카드를 피험자에게 제시하여 의미에 따라 분류하도록 지시하고 그 결과를 근거로 형용사들 간의 거리(유사도)를 산출하여 MDS 분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구에서 얻어진 한국 부모의 양육태도 차원에 대한 결과를 살펴보면, 제 1차원은 ‘다정-냉정’, 제 2차원은 ‘합리-불합리’, 제 3차원은 ‘통제-방임’의 3개의 차원으로 검출되었다. 제 2차원의 ‘합리-불합리’는 국외 연구에서 볼 수 없는 우리나라 고유의 정서를 내포한 한국 부모의 양육태도 차원으로 나타났으며, 한국 부모의 양육태도 유형은 ‘합리적인 양육태도’, ‘권위적인 양육태도’, ‘무책임한 양육태도’, ‘헌신적인 양육태도’, ‘애정적인 양육태도’로 5개의 유형으로 도출되었으며, 이러한 결과는 ‘헌신적인 양육태도’를 제외하고는 국내외의 선행연구의 양육태도유형과 비슷하게 나타났으나, ‘헌신적인 양육태도’는 국외연구에서 볼 수 없는 우리나라 고유의 정서를 내포한 한국 부모의 양육태도 유형인 것으로 나타났다.
따라서 한국 부모의 양육태도 차원을 외국 부모의 양육태도 차원과 비교해 볼 때 ‘합리-불합리’ 양육태도 차원이 우리나라 고유의 양육태도 차원인 것으로 보여 진다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the dimensions of the child-rearing attitudes of Korean parents and to conceptualize their typical parenting style. It's ultimately meant to lay the foundation for stepping up future research efforts on parenting style.
The subjects in this study were 19 teachers who worked at a private kindergarten in the city of Gimhae. In order to determine the dimensions of the child-rearing attitudes of Korean parents, a survey was conducted to gather adjectives that described their parenting styles, and 44 adjectives were finally selected after working on them. The subjects were asked to classify the selected adjectives based on their meaning, and after to what extent the adjectives were similar to one another was measured according to their classification, MDS analysis was implemented.
The findings of the study were as follows:
As for the dimensions of child-rearing attitudes among Korean parents, three different dimensions were selected. The first dimension was 'warm-hearted/cold-hearted' and the second was 'rational/irrational.' The third was 'control/leissez-faire.' The second 'rational/irrational' dimension was unique among Korean parents only, without being found in the findings of foreign studies, and that was a measure of peculiar Korean sentiment. There were five parenting styles among Korean parents, including 'rational style,' 'authoritarian style,' 'irresponsible style,' 'dedicated style,' and 'affective style.' Earlier domestic and international studies produced similar findings, and one exception was 'dedicated parenting.' The 'dedicated parenting' was the unique one of Korean parents, which couldn't be found in the findings of foreign studies, and from the finding, what unique Korean sentiment was like could be inferred.
