The purpose of this study is as follows ; to evaluate infant-toddler caregiver's professionalism by requirement analysis for in-service education form & contents. The result of this study should provide basic information for improving the quality of in-service education of infant-toddler caregiver.
The samples of the survey are 383 infant-toddler caregivers in Seoul. The survey was designed out of consideration for previous researches and data and verified the adequacy of its contents by experts. It was also revised and complemented through preliminary examination.
The research was analyzed into frequency and percentage by using SPSS statistic program. For each research question, χ2-test, t-test, F-test and Scheffee test were used.
The result of this study can be summarized as follows.
: The result of in-service education form is as follows.
First, experience of in-service education course, especially infant-toddler caregiver's course was insufficiency to evaluate infant-toddler caregiver's professionalism.
Second, infant-toddler caregivers needed to execute in-service education for weekday-weekend-cyber course on Otober-June-January. And infant-toddler caregivers regarded it as appropriate for them to have in-service education for 40 hours. And the most favorite method of in-service education was learning by inspection.
Third, it didn't establish the substitute caregiver system and supply of substitute caregiver was insufficiency.
: The result of in-service education form is as follows.
First, it was insufficient that the knowledge of infant-toddler caregiver's course contents. There were differences in infant-toddler caregiver's knowledge of in-service education contents based on the background of caregiver. And the requirements for the contents were frequent not by knowledge but by utility.
Second, it will be able to establish cyber course for infant-toddler caregivers as they regarded.
Third, the effect of infant-toddler caregiver's course is less than the caregivers' expectation.
