청소년의 자원봉사활동과 자아존중감의 관계 = (The) Relation to youth volunteers for serve the community & their self-esteem

This study on youth volunteer for serve the community look deep into a general trait and the connection of self-esteem according to the attendance period, favorite fields, process, confirmation, reward. Theresults this study were as follows.
First, regarding the general trait.
The average attendance hour is 20~29hrs and the students of humanity studies works on positive line than the students of non-humanities school.
It seems because of the expectation psychology of the students of humanity studies that this experience, the times of serve the community, will be able to have an affirmative effect on going on to university.
For youth volunteer's favorite field, it's practically simplicity service, adding hands for some lack of manpower part, in public offices, medical institution by the students of humanity studies and social welfare facilities by the students of non-humanity studies . According to the research, it shows that the most fruitful services are adding hands and helping to social welfare facilities.
For the process of service working, it required the daily＆estimation report and devises an advance preparation of volunteers. For the confirmation and reward of service working, the volunteer expects too much of the certification for their service working because they think this is very useful for their life. For example going to the university or entering a profession.
Second, regarding the general trait and self-esteem.
Female students has more apparent general trait and higher self-esteem on school then male students for serve the community because of the attendance period of service working. The female student spends more much time then male students.
According to the target and place, the self-esteem on school shown highly but there are no difference of self-esteem in the kinds of school and religions.
It seems that the attendance period is related to getting the self-esteem on school. And, Inthe whole country, 72.6% is working for their religions but the average in research area is just 53.2%. It too low to affect the self-esteem.
The youth' volunteer gets the general self-esteem highly when they spend time as much as they can, but it doesn't have too much meaning.
Because they no more want to take part in serve the community, after they satisfy the average attendance hour (20hur).
Third, regarding the volunteer's favorite fields.
The volunteer gets the respectable self-esteem by visitation and undertake to guide and gets the respectable accomplishment when they consider of effort＆sacrifice more than simplicity service. The Choi Mu-Yeon study also shown same conclusion with this research.
The volunteers get the self-esteem highly by moral support in adding hands and undertake to guide classmates or group. but it doesn't have too much meaning.
Fourth, regarding the volunteer's service process.
When they set an advance preparations up and have advance instruction＆training or submit the daily＆estimation report satisfactorily, the social self-esteem shown very highly because this serve the community of youth volunteers can be affected good consequence to their external self-esteem.
Therefore, including the requirement institutions and the role of volunteers, the school needsto open new curriculum that can educate or manage to the process of serve the community to youth volunteers by school-selves and also need to arrange the school social worker in the whole of the nation soon as possible. then it will be great service for the youth volunteers.
Fifth, regarding the confirmations＆reward of serve the community.
To get the certification for their service working can affect to general self-esteem and the home- self-esteem shown when the expectation that this service working can affect to their study or university or job in the future is reflected to the youth volunteers .
It has no meaning in the relationship according to economic compensation, and concerns with present condition of little compensation experience except a certificate verified volunteering service activity. It is considered that the issue and receipt of certificate have already settled at the most of demanding places and generalized as a necessary process to satisfy obligatory time.
To improve youth serve the community＆their self-esteem through volunteer, The suggest this study were as follows.
First, It is necessary to develop and apply the volunteer program by sex distinction and school character for suitable chance to participation not only to go on graduate school but also for employment and social activity to be favored positive benefit, national constructive investment is highly required
Second, Compensation and authorization is required for participate volunteer program including directly invested time and indirection time such as approach and return. Through the relative authorization system than current 20 hours participation duty rule, provide grade incentive on participate and investment result for extend participation and maintain.
Third, In order for systematic educate and efficient manage to teen volunteers participation procedure, establish responsible subject and posting social worker is performed as set an example, but overall importation is requested not to occur any overwork, confusion and uncomfortable in place demand in order to provide systematic and essential aid for teen volunteers.
As the result of this research, to get rid of trait and disparity between greater and small city, regional comparative study and long term vertical research and performing effort of positive spread effectiveness are required
