      The purpose of this study is to find out the level of teacher's recognition on the status of the music education for early childhood. Also, it has the intention to provide the forwarding direction and fundamental data on the music education for early childhood.For the above purpose, the following subjects were set for the research.
      1. Is the level of teacher's recognition on the music education for early childhood different from the variance (teacher's working institute, career, and academic background) of teacher?
      1-1. Is the level of teacher's recognition on the purpose of the music education for early childhood different from the variance of teacher?
      1-2. Is the level of teacher's recognition on the teacher's role of the music education for early childhood from the variance of teacher?
      2. Is the level of the status on the music education for early childhood different from the variance (teacher's working institute, career, and academic background) of teacher (teacher's working institute, career, and academic background)?
      3. Is the status of the composition of educational environment on the music education for early childhood different from the variance of teacher?
      1-1. Is the status of the educational activity of the music education for early childhood different from the variance of teacher?
      1-2. Is the status of the evaluation on the music education for early childhood different from the variance of teacher?
      In this research, the investigation by inquiry paper was performed for the subject of the teachers working in the educational institution at Osan city and Hwaseong city in Gyeonggi-do for finding out the status of the music education in the early childhood education institute.
      212 copies of the inquiry paper were released by random sampling, and the rate of collection was 84% (192 copies).
      171 copies of the inquiry paper were finally analyzed excluding the paper not being checked or the data being unclear after reviewing the collected papers.
      The test tool for the research is the inquiry paper that is made for the level of teacher's recognition on the music education for infant and the status of music education, for which was made the subject of teachers working in the early childhood education institute.
      1) The level of teacher's recognition on the music education for early childhood The inquiry paper for teacher, which was divided into the level of recognition on the education purpose of the music education for early childhood and the level of recognition on the teacher's role of the music education for early childhood, was used in this investigation; it was revised and compensated by Park Yoon-kyeong (1995) from 'The purpose of the music education for early childhood(Moomaw, 1984), 'Teacher's attitude and the role for the music education for early childhood' (Kang Sook-hee, 1993).
      2) The status of the music education for early childhood
      The inquiry paper for analyzing the educational environment of the music education for early childhood, educational activity of the music education for early childhood, (Singing, hearing, playing musical instrument, and listening to music) and the educational evaluation on the environment of the music education for early childhood, was used; the had been revised, compensated and used by Lee Yoon-yun (1998), Research on the environment of the music education in kindergarten, educational activity data of infantile melody (1996), Ellis(1985), and Soderman & Whiren(1993) and then An Jung-hee composed them again.
      It was composed as the second tier of singing, hearing, playing musical instrument,listening to music (Le Blanc, 1987), The education evaluation of the music education for (Collection of educational activity guide in kindergarten, 2000). Credibility of this tool is .88. First of all, preliminary investigation was performed to teachers in kindergarten and early childhood house that were located at the area in Hwasung city and Byeong jeom city, Then, improper question or double items were revised or deleted for modification, The inquiry paper that was finally made through preliminary investigation was verified by the specialist for infantile education for the validity in content and composed the investigation tool.
      1. In the level of teacher's recognition for the educational purpose of the role of the music education for early childhood, affiliated kindergarten was the highest in institute in average, the group over 10 year career was the highest with 4.44 in career, and no difference in academic background was shown as F = 2.06, in the level of significance 5%.
      2. In the level of teacher's recognition on the role of the music education infant, affiliated kindergarten was highest in average, the group over 10 years was the highest with 4.44 in career, and no big difference in average was shown.
      3. In the status of educational activity of the music education for infant, the private kindergarten was the highest with 3.74 in institute, and the higher career showed the recognition that status of educational environment is better. No difference in academic background was shown.
      4. In the status of educational activity of the music education for early childhood. The private kindergarten was the highest in institute, and the group over 10 years in career showedthe recognition that the status of educational environment was the best.
      5. In the status of the educational evaluation of the music education for early childhood, the private kindergarten was the highest in institute, and the group over 10 years in career showed the highest. In general, higher career showed the response that educational evaluation was well done.
