The purpose of this study was to build the theory and practice of the reeducation program for training professionals in dance and to provide its direction and indicator. In doing this, four specific research questions were proposed as follows:
1) What is the theory and practice about reeducation of artists and the environmental change in culture and art?
2) What can be the present situation and current problems of dance education in internal and external?
3) How can it be done for the building paradigm of reeducation on dance professionals?
4) How would the re-education program model in dance art be set up?
In order to examine those of issues, it was accomplished critical consideration and analysis on the education process and the articles related to the art education and re-education concerning with dance. In detail, articles and books about art education and re-education, books and reports for policy program dance art education, and Master theses and Ph.D dissertations were reviewed critically as the first analysis. The current curriculums of department of dance in each national and abroad colleges were considered analysing the internet sites.
The following findings were articulated as the result of this study concerning research questions:
First of all, it was important to face the reality that the reeducation for the artists can't meet the cultural level of the today's audience requiring high quality and variety performance due to the improvement of the intellectual culture level. It was found that the re-education of artists must be attained with range for the creating jobs relating arts. Also emphasizing more improved and professional re-education and the development of its programs need to be carried out side by side.
Second, as the current situation and problems on internal and external dance education it was appeared that the dance department of colleges training the dance professionals mainly focused on the dance practice, which made them stay behind in the diversity and specialization. Therefore, the curriculums couldn't correspond with the diverse need of students. On the contrary, the curriculums of the America, England, and Australia run more flexible and diverse programs. So it's much easier to advance toward the professional field compared the national situation.
Third, for the building the paradigm of dance professional re-education process, the constructive culture and art education policy focused on training the creative resources should be established. In addition, the development of reeducation program that can lead the creative revitalization need to be settled without delay. We formed a conclusion that the re-education for both the professional dance educators and the dance choreographers are needed. Under the current art environment, the usage of technology is increasing rapidly, so the re-education for the dance choreographer on technology may be needed for the smooth communication between the performance producers and audiences. Also it requires the re-education for the professional to secure the competitiveness of dance art,
Finally, this study proposed models of re-education program for training choreographers and professional dance educators. To carry out such models, it was suggested building the professional foundation similar to social education academy and lifelong education academy which are the affiliated organizations of the university performing the re-education programs. Each programs were separated into following three categories: 1) movement development, 2) creativity development, and 3) choreography theory education. And then, it showed programs focusing its education goal training creative choreographers. The re-education program for the professional dance educator were classified as the following three sections: 1) movement education, 2) teaching method development, and 3) creativity education.
In conclusion, the significance of this study was to build the re-education program and the professional organization of dance art re-education relating colleges except the regular curriculums in university, to provide programs leading efficiently dance professionals into creating jobs and social adjustment
