The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between children's temperament, self-efficacy, parenting style, social support(from parent, teacher, and peer) and ego-resilience.
In order to achieve the purpose, the following questions were raised:
First, are there any differences of children's temperament, self-efficacy, parenting style, social support according to gender and grades?
Second, are there any differences of ego-resilience level according to gender and grades?
Third, are there any relationship among the children's temperament, self-efficacy, parenting style, social support and ego-resilience level?
Fourth, what are the most correlations explanatory variable among the children's temperament, self-efficacy, parenting style, social support on children's ego-resilience level according to gender?
Fifth, what are the most correlations explanatory variable among the children's temperament, self-efficacy, parenting style, social support on children's ego-resilience level according to grades?
The total number of 620 students(boy 310, girl 322) sampled in the study. They 310 boys and 310 girls from the elementary students school located in Seoul and Kyoung-Gi do participated in this study.
For this study all of subjects was measured with the EAS scale(Emotional, Activity, Sociability), self-efficacy scale, parenting style scale, social support scale(from parent, teacher, and peer) and Ego-Resiliency Scale(ER).
The data of this study were analyzed by the statistical method of frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, scheffe' test, correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis through the SPSS 10.0 program.
The results of the study can be summarized as in the follows:
First, there are some differences of ego-resilience according to gender. It was shown that female child‘ had higher ego-resilience level than mail child‘.
Second, there is a statistically significant correlations between children's temperament and children's ego-resilience. Especially, there is a statistically significant correlations Activity of temperament.
Third, there is a statistically significant correlations between self-efficacy and ego-resilience. Especially, self-regulated efficacy of self-efficacy is the most powerful predictor of ego-resilience level of children among explanatory variable.
Fourth, there is a statistically significant correlations between social support(from parent, teacher, and peer) and children's ego-resilience. Especially, there is a statistically significant correlations parent support of social support.
Fifth, self-efficacy is most powerful predictor of ego-resilience level of children among explanatory variable and self-regulated efficacy of self-efficacy is most powerful predictor of ego-resilience level of children among explain variables. Without relationship with gender and grades.
