현경준 연구 = (A) study on Hyun Kyungjoon

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Hyun, Kyungjoon was born in Hamkyungbukdo Myungchongun Hakamyun Hwataeri in Feb. 29th 1909. Pen name was Kyung un-shaeng or Kumnam and went by the alias of Kim, kyung-joon.
From 1937 Hyun, Kyungjoon took root at Manchuria for 8 years. Independence Day of Korea in 1945 he returned to his old home and played an active part in the literary and art world in Hamkyongbukdo. October 1950 he fell in battle as a war correspondent of peoples' army.
Hyun, Kyungjoon made his debut with his novel Sun of the Heart which was won the prize sponsored by Korea Daily. He was an adamant writer possessed with radical tendencies. During his literary career of 11 years(1934-1945) he had published 3 full-length novels, 4 novelettes, 22 short stories, 17 informal articles of jottings, notes, travels and comments, 6-7 till now no text works because of dullness excavation. He was quite an active writer.
This thesis chased writer's career by the method of biographical criticize and with the analyze of works examined writer's recognition and attitude for Manchuria actuality and chased the relation between the theme and Manchuria actuality by the method of historical criticize too. By way of such work this thesis put to right subjectively criticize tendency in precedent research which valued Hyun, Kyungjoon and his works only with a unfinished novel Drifting People. And get rid of shadow which leaved in Hyun, Kyungjoon's literary world.
This thesis laid stress upon basic examination for newly-joined research, out of survey from criticize the original angles. And considered biographically with link writer's life and the changing period into closer relations with each other. As a result made clear following subject.
First, precedent research were short of minute analyze of text and not attained a study of the Hyun, Kyungjoon's novel literature. In order to get over such subject this thesis included 29 Hyun, Kyungjoon's works which were till now excavated.
Second, there were some issues in analysis on Drifting People hero and main subject. Drifting People was the first part of Homing. This novel advocated Manchuria measure in the surface structure but defend his national character in the inside structure.
Third, precedent research regard Drifting People, Sun of the Heart, Homing as two novelettes and a full-length novel. This thesis compare analyzed Drifting People with Homing and Sun of the Heart found that the details of Drifting People were repeated in full-length novel Homing and novelette Sun of the Heart. It may safely be said that in conclusion Drifting People was a unfinished novel, it's a mistake that look Drifting People as a perfect novelette.
Forth, this thesis was the first one which fully analyze novelette Phoenix which was published in North Korea in 1949.
Hyun, Kyungjoon led an obscure life on account of a victim of 6.25. As a resistant writer of showing the tendency of realism literature Hyun, Kyungjoon created and published many works which were about exposure and criticism the darkside of society, seek nation's tomorrow. These works become a valuable inheritance for Korean people's literature at the period when Japanese imperialism. Hyun, Hyungjoon was an honest national writer who defend his conscience.
