The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation among parents' achievement pressure, test anxiety and students' academic achievement intended for private independent highschool students.
To achieve this purpose, the following hypotheses were tested:
1-1) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the cognitive components of test anxiety will have correlation.
1-2) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the emotional components of test anxiety will have correlation.
1-3) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the behavioral components of test anxiety will have correlation.
2) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the academic achievement will have correlation.
3-1) The cognitive component of test anxiety and academic achievement will have correlation.
3-2) The emotional component of test anxiety and academic achievement will have correlation.
3-3) The behavioral component of test anxiety and academic achievement will have correlation.
In order to test these hypotheses, 190 students(91 boys and 99 girls) were sampled from Sangsan Highschool, a private self-independent highschool.
Tools used in this study were The Test Anxiety Inventory(TAI), The Test of Parents' attitude for Academic Achievement and the Academic Achievement Test.
The statistical methods used in this study were Pearson Product Correlation Analysis by means of SPSS according to the proper research problem.
The results of this were as follows:
1-1) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the cognitive components of test anxiety had correlation.
1-2) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the emotional components of test anxiety had correlation.
1-3) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and the behavior components of test anxiety had correlation.
2) The levels of parents' achievement pressure and academic achievement had correlation.
3-1) The cognitive component of test anxiety and academic achievement had no correlation.
3-2) The emotional components of the test anxiety and academic achievement had no correlation.
3-3) The behavior components of test anxiety and academic achievement had no correlation.
