This study is designed to make a comparative analysis to determine how different the gender-equality consciousness of adolescents is in accordance with several background reasons (gender, co education, middle school or high school, whether they live with grand parents or not, whether their parents are double income couples or not, how high their parents' zeal about their children's education) and to determine how much ordinary families give their children the gender equality education.
With this in mind, the researcher worked with a total of 553 teenagers in North Jolla province, creating, distributing and collecting questionnaires concerned with the gender-equality consciousness and the gender-equality education. The researcher built on SPPS 11.5 Program to make an analysis of the gathered questionnaires. The following are the findings.
First, the comparison of the gender-equality consciousness in accordance with gender showed that female students had more gender-equality consciousness than male students and showed that there was a significant difference about the gender-equality consciousness in home, school, workplace and the society in accordance with gender even when compared with the sub factors.
Second, the comparison showed that there was little difference about the gender-equality consciousness in accordance with coeducation(not gender). But the comparison between a coed school, a boys' school and a girls' school showed a significant difference.
Third, the comparison showed that there was little difference about the gender-equality consciousness according as it was a high school or middle school but high school students showed higher gender-equality consciousness than middle school students.
Fourth the comparison of the gender-equality consciousness according as they live with their parents showed that students who live with parents had more gender-equality consciousness than students who do not live with and showed that there was a significant difference about the gender-equality consciousness between them.
Fifth the comparison of the gender-equality consciousness according as their parents are double income couples showed that students whose parents are double income couples had more gender-equality consciousness than students whose parents are not double income couples and showed that there was a significant difference about the gender-equality consciousness between them.
Sixth the comparison of the gender-equality consciousness according as how high their parents' zeal about their children's education showed that students whose parents expected their children to have college degrees had more gender-equality consciousness than students whose parents did not expect their children to have college degrees and that there was a significant difference about the gender-equality consciousness between them.
And looking at how much students live the gender-equality lives in their home in accordance with gender and structural characteristics of the family, the result was that most of the students lived the gender-equality lives in their home generally. But looking closely, female students lived more gender-equality lives than male students, and whether the students live with grandparents or not affected negatively on the gender-equality lives in their home. And also when their parents' zeal about their children's education was higher, students were able to live the gender-equality lives in their home
Lastly looking at the gender-equality lives in their schools in accordance with gender and education in school, almost all schools taught students the gender-equality lives generally.
But the teaching was not enough so more education on gender-equality in school was needed. Looking at related sub factors it was really different between middle school and high school in the gender-equality lives in their schools. Middle school students lived the more gender-equality lives than high school students.
This study indicates that there is a big difference on the gender-equality consciousness of adolescents in accordance with gender. In the future society adolescents will hopefully have the gender-equality consciousness, and society and school have to try to build the world that is devoid of the word "gender-equality"
