The number of family which entrusts their children to child-care service center is increasing because of social transition and increasing number of working couples.
Child-care service centers are providing diverse program for children. However, since there are quality differences according to the type of child-care service center, there are factorial difference in choosing child-care service center and contentment of service.
This study was made by survey result 403 parents from 8 child-care service centers which were located in Po-hang and Gyeong-ju, North Gyeong-sang province. The result was analyzed into t-test and ANOVA through SPSS for Windows 10.0 Program which is social science spastics package.
This is expected to basic data to improve services quality of child-care service center, based the suggestions made by parents.
The results were as follows:
First, when 13 questions on important factors in choosing child-care service center were asked, responded that qualification of supervisor and teachers were most important. These was followed by quality of meals given to children, education program, quality and quantity of learning instruments, number of children and teacher per class, social environment of child-care service center, length of care period, carriage system, required time and distance between the child-care service center and home, school expenses, scale of child-care service center, type of foundation and programs that education of parents.
Second, 21 questions were asked to parents satisfaction level of child-care service center. These questions were classified into 5 areas ? psychologic, physical, educational, environmental and social. Shown the psychologic area were top of the list, and social area were lowest.
Third, the relationship between choosing factors and contentment are in direct proportion in a coefficient of correlation according to the result compared with these five based on educational, physical, environmental, psychologic and social.
As the result shows, child-care service centers needed to improve their service to provide better quality of child-care service. Then, parents will have more opportunities of social participation through entrusting their children to the child-care service centers with higher contentment. Finally, children will be provided better quality of child-care service.
