초등학교 성교육 실태 및 교사들의 성교육에 대한 인식 = (The) Actual conditions of sex education in elementary school and the recognition of it by the teachers

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학교 학생들의 신체와 생리적 변화 즉 성숙에 따라 학생들에게 올바른 성교육 지도가 크게 요구되고 있다. 학생들의 급격한 신체적, 생리적 변화에 따라 성에 대하여 관심이 고조되어 있기 때문에 학교에서 올바른 성교육이 필요하다. 특히 초등학교의 성교육은 체육교과와 가장 밀접하기 때문에 초등학교 성교육 실태와 교사들의 성교육에 대한 인식을 분석하여 초등학교 성교육에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다.
이 연구는 B광역시 6개 교육청 산하 36개 초등학교 교사 250명을 대상으로 성교육에 관한 설문지로 조사 분석한 결과 아래와 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1. 성교육 실태에서 초등학교의 성교육은 주로 보건교사가 교과시간에 약연간 2회 정도 실시하고 있는 것으로 나타났고 방법은 시청각 교육법으로 하고 있다. 교재는 교육부도서를 사용하고 있으며 학습 자료는 동영상 및 VCR 등과 같은 영상 자료를 이용하고 있었다. 그리고 초등학교 성교육에서의 문제점은 성교육 자료의 부족이라고 교사들은 인식하고 있었다.
2. 성교육에 관한 연수 실태는 초등학교 교사들은 성교육의 연수 경험이 적었으며, 그 이유는 연수할 기회가 적은 편이어서 성교육의 연수가 필요하다고 하였다. 그리고 초등학교에서의 성교육의 연수는 주로 학교 자체 연수였으며 그 방법은 주로 유인물 자료로 실시하였다.
3. 성교육에 관한 교사들의 인식은 초등학교 성교육에 우선시 되어야 할 내용은 생리적 발달 및 학생들의 성심리라고 하였고, 초등학교 성교육에서 강조되어야 할 내용은 성폭력 예방과 남녀 간의 차이라고 하였다. 그리고 초등학교 교사들은 제 7차 교육과정상의 성교육을 잘 이해하지 못하고 있는 실정이며 성교육 실시 중 어려움에 봉착하였을 때 동료교사나 보건교사와 협의한다고 하였다.
4. 성교육의 활성화 방안에 대한 교사들의 인식은 성교육은 초등학교 저학년부터 관련교과에서 보건교사가 실시해야 한다고 하였고, 성교육은 반드시 실시하여야 하며 성윤리와 성도덕을 확립하는데 필요하다고 하였다. 그리고 성교육은 시청각 기자재로 지도하는 방법이 가장 적절하고 성교육이 활성화 되려면 연수기회를 많이 제공해야 하며 성교육 자료가 확충되어야 한다고 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this research, the adequate sex education is required because of the students' physical change, the growth. As the students' curiosity and attentions about sex is really high due to their rapid physical changes. Therefore, the adequate sex education is needed in elementary school.
Especially the sex education in the elementary school has most closeness to Physical subject. So this research has its aim to give fundamental source of sex education in the elementary school by analyzing the recognition of the teachers.
This research had its result from the survey which was answered from 250 teachers of 36 different elementary school that are in six different offices of education in B city.
1. In the actual conditions of sex education in the elementary school, health teacher is teaching the sex education twice a year at the subject hour with audio-visual teaching. Textbook is from the Ministry of Education and the material is moving picture like VCR. And the teachers acknowledged that the problem of sex education in elementary school is because of lack of materials of sex education.
2. The actual conditions of frequency of studies and training for sex education are quite low. Because there are mere chances to get studies and training so they say they need studies and training of elementary school's sex education. And the studies and training of sex education are mostly happens within the school with the printed matter.
3. In the acknowledgement of the sex education from teachers, teachers say that physical growth and their concept of sex should be in considered in education, the prevention of sex abuse and difference between men and women. The actual conditions of the understanding of teachers regarding the sex education in seventh curriculum of education is not well and if there are some difficulties in teaching they usually consult with heath teacher or colleague.
4. To make the sex education in elementary school works the teachers says that the heath teacher should teach it to lower grades and sex education must be set because it is necessary for establishment of sexual morality and ethics on sex. They also say that the audio-visual teaching is the most adequate method of teaching and there should be many studies and training of sex education and sufficient teaching materials of sex education.
