The purpose of this study is to provide referential data to support the development of much better textbook, based on contents analysis of middle school first grade text(11 kinds in each domain), and particularly the biological domain, in the sixth and the seventh revised curricula.
The results of comparative analysis of biology area of middle school science 1 textbooks are as follows;

The most prominent difference between the sixth and the seventh curriculum is the development of interrelated curriculum from the third grade in elementary school to the first grade in highschool based on the people common standard curriculum. Also, there are less contents and more learning topics in the seventh curriculum than the sixth curriculum.
It is analyzed that the kinds and numbers written in textbooks are varied and increased by strengthening integrative inquiry activities.
In this study, the middle school science 1 textbooks of the sixth and the seventh curriculum are analyzed on the basis of areas. In the number of pages of textbooks, seventh curriculum were generally more reduced than the sixth curriculum, but in the course, variety of inquiry activities except only experiments is increased while there are less experiments. Especially, the number of picture is remarkably increased with more question. This is because of various learning picture and strengthening of inquiry activities.
The result of comparative analysis of biology area of middle school science 1 textbooks shows that seventh curriculum is a little in accord with sixth curriculum in the main learning contents. This is due to reduction in old contents and increase in new contents.
The result of inquiry analysis of biology area of the middle school science 1 textbooks by Romey method shows that the evaluation index T value about textbook contents is 0.63 in the sixth curriculum and 0.12 in the seventh curriculum. The former is analyzed inquiry while the latter is analyzed authoritative. The evaluation index Q value about question contents is 2.97 in the sixth curriculum and 1.45 in the seventh curriculum. The textbook in sixth curriculum, which evaluation index jumped over 1.5, was decided too much exploratory for student level. Compared with this, a question of the seventh textbook was appeared more suitable in exploratory propensity.
The comparison and analysis between middle school science curriculum and system and contents of science 1 textbooks results in that some parts of the seventh middle school science textbooks are fit to the seventh middle school curriculum but some parts are not.
Middle school science 1 textbooks of the seventh curriculum has more inquiry contents than the sixth, but its contents is a bit of authoritative. Then it needs to develop more inquiry and interrelated textbooks.
