어머니의 자아실현성과 자녀 기대감 및 아동의 자아존중감과의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 어머니의 자아실현성과 자녀 기대감 및 아동의 자아존중감과의 관계를 알아보고자 하였으며, 이를 통해 부모-자녀 관계의 기초자료를 제공하는 것에 그 의의를 두고 있다.
이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 서울시와 경기도 이천시에 소재한 초등학교 4곳의 5, 6학년 재학 중인 아동 275명과 그들의 어머니 275명을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 자료분석은 연구문제에 따라 빈도와 백분율, Pearson의 상관분석을 실시하였다.
어머니의 자아실현성을 측정하기 위하여 Shostrom이 처음 제작하고, 김재은·이광자가 우리나라 문화수준에 맞게 표준화한 P.O.I (personal orientation inventory)검사 척도를 사용했으며, 자녀 기대감을 측정하기 위해서는 박은희(2004)가 개발한 자녀 기대감 척도를 사용하였다. 또한 아동의 자아존중감을 측정하기 위해서 Harter(1983)가 개발하고 백영실(1992)이 번안·수정하여 만든 자아존중감 검사도구를 본 연구에 맞게 수정하여 사용하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 어머니의 자아실현성과 자녀 기대감의 관계에서는 자아실현성이 높은 어머니일수록 자녀에 대해 발달을 고려한 적절한 수준의 기대를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 어머니의 자아실현성이 높을수록 아동은 긍정적인 자아존중감을 갖는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 어머니의 자녀 기대감과 아동의 자아존중감의 관계는 전체적으로 상관을 보이지 않았지만, 하위요인에서 부분적으로 정적인 상관관계를 보였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to find the relationship among mother's self-actualization, mother's expectation and children's self-esteem.
The subject of this study were 275 children (in 5th and 6th grade of an elementary school) and their mothers 275 in seoul and Ichun-si, Gyeonggi-do. As the instrument for the study, P.O.I (Personal Orientation Inventory) is used to measure the mother's self-actualization, which was developed by Shostrom and modified for Korean cultual standard by Jae-eun Kim and Gwang-ja Lee. And mother's expectation was developed by Eun-hee Park(2004), To measure children's self-esteem, I used experimental instrument developed by Harter and modified, revised by Young-sil Baek. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage ratio and correlation.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows;
First, The more mother's self-actualization is higher, the more mother's expectation has appropriate expectation in relationship between mother's self-actualization and mother's expectation.
Second, The higher mother's self-actualization has, the higher children's self-esteem has.
Third, The relationship about mother's expectation and children's self-esteem doesn't seems correlation by large, but partial correlation is appeared in certain factors.
