신문활용교육을 통한 유아의 창의성 증진효과에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to set up and suggest methods of
educational activities on programs for improvement of infant
creativities with Newspaper in Education (NIE), which are useful to
the field of infant education. Additionally, by applying NIE to infants,
we will show how much infant creativities are improved.
To manifest the effect of NIE on infant creativities, the questions to
examine are as follows;
Does the educational program with NIE affect improvement of infant
creativities, different infants subordinate creativities and expression
creativities?
The subjects of this study are 48 infants, full five-year-old, who
are nursed in a nursery located in Nowon-ku, Seoul. The program
with NIE is applied to the experimental group. On the contrary, the
ordinary program is applied to the controlled group.
Before this experiment, pre-examination which evaluates the amount
of class teaching the program with NIE is taken. Additionally, the
participation rate of infants in program and the problems of program
are also pre-examined. This examination for the program is operated
with 24 activities program which this researcher and another one are
composed to.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육현장에서 적용할 수 있는 신문으로 창의성
프로그램을 구성하고 창의성 프로그램에 대한 활동방법을 설정하여 유아
들에게 제시하고자 하며 또한 창의성 프로그램인 신문 활용 교육을 유아
에게 제시할 경우 유아의 창의성 증진효과가 어느 정도 있는지를 알아보
고자 하는데 의의가 있다.
이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위해 실험연구를 통해 본 연구에서 규명하
고자 하는 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
신문활용교육은 유아의 창의성 증진에 효과가 있는가? 그리고 신문활
용교육의 효과는 유아의 창의성 하위요인과 표현 영역에 따라 차이가 있
는가?
본 연구는 서울시 노원구에 소재하고 있는 2개의 구립 N어린이집 만 5
세 유아 48명을 대상으로 하였다. 실험집단에게는 창의성 프로그램인 신
문 활용 교육을 적용하였고, 통제집단은 일상적인 수업을 실시하였다.
본 실험을 실시하기에 앞서 유아들에게 신문 활용 교육 수업의 시간
및 신문 활용 교육의 참여도, 신문 활용 교육수업에서의 문제점을 알아보
기 위해 예비실험을 실시하였으며 실험처치로는 연구자 외 1명이 구성한
24편 활동 프로그램을 가지고 본 연구자에 의해 진행되었다.
유아의 창의성을 측정하기 위한 도구는 전경원(1995)이 표준화한 유아
용 창의성 검사를 통하여 사전 및 사후검사를 하였다. 측정 조사결과는
집단별로 평균과 표준편차를 하였고, 또한 실험집단과 통제집단간의 사후
검사 점수의 차이를 알아보기 위해 공변량분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 신문 활용 교육 프로그램을 실시한 경우 유아의 창의성 하위요인
(유창성, 융통성, 독창성, 상상력)점수 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나
타냈다. 즉 신문 활용 교육 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단이 그렇지 않은
집단보다 창의성 하위요인에서 더 높은 증진효과가 나타났다.
둘째, 신문 활용 교육 프로그램을 실시한 경우 유아의 창의성 표현 영
역(언어, 도형, 신체)점수 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 즉
신문 활용 교육 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단이 그렇지 않은 집단보다 창
의성 표현영역에서 더 높은 증진효과가 나타났다.
