놀이치료실의 환경구성 실태에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

놀이치료는 놀이를 통한 심리치료이며, 놀이치료실과 놀이감은 놀이치료의 구성요건중의 하나이다. 아동은 놀이치료실이라는 안전한 공간에서 놀이를 통해 치료자와 의사 소통하게 되며, 이때 놀이감은 아동의 의사소통의 매개체로 사용 될 뿐만 아니라, 치료적인 중요한 가치를 지니고 있다.
놀이치료에서 놀이치료실 환경의 중요성에도 불구하고, 국내에서 이루어진 놀이치료 연구들은 대부분 놀이치료의 효과에 관한 연구들이며, 놀이치료실 환경에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 그러므로 놀이치료실의 환경 구성에 관한 연구는 앞으로 놀이치료실을 개설하기 원하는 기관들과, 복지관들, 아동 상담가들에게 도움이 될 것이며, 놀이치료실 환경 구성에 있어 중요한 기초 자료가 될 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 놀이치료실의 환경에 대한 실태를 파악하고, 놀이치료자들의 놀이치료 환경 구성에 대한 견해를 분석하고자 한다.
연구의 대상은 현재 놀이치료 상담을 하고 있는 기관 중에서 기관 특성에 따라 복지기관 내 놀이치료실, 사설 놀이치료실, 대학부설 놀이치료실, 병원 내 놀이치료실 등 4가지로 분류하여 21개 기관내의 26개 놀이치료실의 환경을 조사하였으며, 21명의 놀이치료자들을 대상으로 놀이치료실 환경에 대한 견해를 조사하였다.
측정 도구는 유아교육과 산업미술 분야의 연구와 놀이치료 문헌들을 참고로 하여 연구자가 연구내용에 맞도록 놀이치료실 물리적 설비 11문항, 집기류 5문항과 놀이감 목록, 놀이치료자를 대상으로 하는 면접지를 구성한 후, 놀이치료 전문가 2인과 놀이치료 상담 경력 2년 이상의 놀이치료자 2인의 조언을 얻어 수정 보완하였으며, 예비조사를 통해 조사 요령을 숙지한 후 본조사를 실시하였다.
자료 분석은 놀이치료실 환경 구성과 놀이치료자의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위해 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였고, 놀이치료자들의 놀이치료실 환경에 관한 견해는 면접지의 내용을 세분화하고 범주화하여 각 범주 문항들의 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였다.
연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째로, 놀이치료실의 물리적 설비, 집기류와 놀이감의 실태 조사에 따르면, 놀이치료실의 물리적 설비 중 놀이치료실의 크기는 3∼4평과 5∼6평 인 경우가 많았고, 벽의 색깔은 아이보리 색이 가장 많았으며, 벽의 재질은 벽돌과 시멘트벽이 가장 많았고, 바닥재는 리놀륨을 가장 많이 사용하고 있었으며, 화장실은 대부분 놀이치료실에 가까운 외부에 있었고, 방음장치가 설치되지 않은 곳이 53.8%로 조사되었다. 일방경과 커튼, 비디오(오디오)는 비교적 많은 놀이치료실이 설치를 해놓았으며, 싱크대 설치는 미비했고, 설치되어 있다 하더라도 아동의 키에 맞추어 설치되어 있는 곳이 몇 군데 되지 않았다. 반면에, 창문과 냉난방 시설은 대부분의 놀이치료실에 설치되어 있었다.
집기류 중 놀이감 진열장은 각 놀이치료실 마다 다양한 높이의 진열장이 설치되어 있었고, 개방형 진열장이 가장 많았으며, 테이블이 있는 경우에는 좌식 테이블이 주로 비치되어 있었고, 의자는 아동용 의자 1개를 비치한 곳이 많았다. 모래상자는 대부분의 놀이치료실에서 구비하고 있었으며, 모래상자가 한 개인 곳이 가장 많았고, 모래상자 테이블은 좌식과 입식 두 종류의 테이블이 비치되어 있었다.
놀이치료실의 놀이감 종류별 보유 현황을 체크한 결과 50% 이상의 기관에서 공통적으로 보유하고 있는 놀이감의 목록은 음식, 각종 사람인형, 자동차, 공사용 차, 기타 운송수단들, 가족인형세트, 싱크대, 아기 인형과 우유 병, 공룡, 동물들(포유류, 조류, 파충류, 양서류, 해양생물, 곤충), 총, 놀이감 군인, 군 장비 세트, 해머 두들기기, 고무 칼, 캐릭터 인형, 블록, 미술도구, 이젤, 플레이도우, 플레이도우 찍기세트, 도장스탬프, 공, 고리던지기, 두들기는 악기, 흔드는 악기, 멜로디 악기, 카세트, 카세트 테입, 기타악기, 각종구조물, 낚시게임, 농구게임 등이다.
두 번째로 놀이치료자들이 놀이치료실 환경 구성에 대하여 현장에서 느끼는 다양한 견해들이 조사되었는데, 놀이치료실의 크기가 내담자 유형에 따라 구비되어야 한다는 의견이 많았다. 방음장치에 대해서는 대부분의 놀이치료자들이 방음에 대한 절실한 요구들을 밝혔으며, 방음 장치가 되어 있지만 방음효과가 미흡하여, 지금 보다 더 잘 방음이 되기를 원한다는 의견도 있었다.
진열장에 대해서는 내담아동의 안전을 위하여 붙박이장을 선호했으며, 진열장의 높이는 내담아동의 눈 높이에 맞추어 설치하는 것을 원했고, 내담 아동의 특성에 맞는 폐쇄식장 사용하기 원하는 의견 등이 있었다.
좌식 테이블 사용에 만족했으며, 모래상자에 다양한 종류와 색깔의 모래가 준비되기를 원했으며, 모래 상자 테이블은 바퀴가 달려 있어 이동 가능한 입식이 좋다는 의견이 가장 많았다.
마지막으로 놀이치료자들의 놀이감에 대한 견해는, 놀이감의 유용성과 견고성, 안정성에 대한 의견들이 가장 많았고, 놀이감을 구입하는 목적과 더 구비하고 싶은 놀이감의 구체적인 목록들에 대해서도 진술하였다. 또한 현존의 놀이치료실들은 방 하나 안에 다양한 내담자들이 필요로 하는 놀이감 중 대표적인 놀이감만을 비치 해놓아 놀이감 사용에 한계를 느낀다는 의견 등이 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Play therapy is psychological therapy through play and the environment of playroom is one of elements of play therapy. Children communicate with the play therapist through play in the playroom and feel comfortable, and the play materials are not only the medium of the communication, but also an important therapeutic variable. Play therapy study on the environment of playroom is necessary, but current researchers are mostly focused on the effect of play therapy.
Accordingly, the purpose of this study is the investigation into the present condition of the environment of playroom and the play therapists opinion of the environment of playroom.

For the research, play therapy centers were categorized with 4 sectors considering the types of institutions; 1) private play therapy centers, 2) play therapy center in welfare institution, 3) play therapy center in hospital, 4) play therapy center founded by the university.
The subjects of this study were 21 play therapists from 26 playrooms in 21 centers.
I consulted on this research subject with 2 play therapy experts and 2 play therapists who have been working more than 2 years to make internal validity, and then it was revised through pre-test.
This study was investigated through both surveying play therapy and interviewing play therapists. The questions were divided into 2 part for the research; 1) 21 questions were asked for the present condition of the physical plant of playroom, 5 questions for equipments of playroom, and play materials list 2) interview with play therapists.
The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage.

The results of this study are as follows.
First, the present condition of the environment of playroom is as follows. As for the physical plant of the playroom, it is mostly 3 ~ 4 pyoung (1 pyoung = 3.3058M2 ) and 5 ~ 6 pyoung. Mostly the color of the wall is ivory and the wall material is brick or cement and the floor material is Vinyl, the bathroom is outside near the playroom. But the 53% of playrooms arent soundproofed. In many rooms there are one-side mirror, curtain, video, windows and air conditioning system, but in many rooms there are no sink.
As for the equipment, toy cabinet is mostly shelf cabinet at various heights. The tables in playroom are mostly a short-legged table. There is one sand tray with the long-legged sand tray table in many playrooms. There is one children chair in many playrooms.
It is informed of the play material list used in the 50% of playrooms.
Second, the results of interviewing with play therapists are as follows. As for the size of playroom, play therapists say that the various sizes of playroom are necessary for the types of counselee. As for the sound proof system, they strongly hope the system with good quality. As for the cabinet, they prefer to closet since it is more available for childrens safety, and they prefer to the cabinet at the height of childrens view. The door cabinet for the types of counselee is preferred mostly. As for the table, they are mostly satisfied with the short-legged table in playroom. As for the sand tray, they hope the various kinds of sand tray with the various colors of sand. As for the sand tray table, they prefer the long-legged table with wheel.
Finally, as for the play materials, the play therapists say that the usefulness, safety and solidity of the play materials are important. They hope the various kinds of play materials for the types of counselee.
