아르누보 양식의 장신구 연구 : 르네 래릭의 작품을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

아르누보 양식은 19세기 중엽 영국에서 기계 생산에 대한 반발로 일어난 미술공예운동이 도화선이 되어 프랑스, 벨기에 등 유럽대륙을 중심으로 전 세계로 퍼져나가 성행하였던 새로운 미술사조이다.
19세기말부터 20세기 초까지 보여졌던 이 양식은 비록 단명하였으나 현대적 조형예술에 많은 영향을 주고 있다.
아르누보는 본질적으로 장식적 요소가 강하여, 일상생활의 모든 것을 예술로 넘치게 하려는 꿈을 갖고 이를 실천에 옮겼다. 그리하여 조그마한 장신구에서부터 시작하여 식기, 화병 등의 생활용품 의상, 인쇄물, 가구, 벽지, 포스터, 회화, 조각, 무대미술에 이르기까지 광범위하게 전개되었다.
아르누보의 길고 흘러내리는 듯한 곡선의 유연함은 여성의 의상에도 영향을 미쳐 좌우 대칭의 원칙이 깨어지게 만들었고 그 의상에 맞는 장신구가 만들어 지게 되었다.

장신구는 아르누보의 예술적 표현이 가장 잘 표출될 수 있는 분야였으며, 아르누보의 정신이 다른 나라보다 활발하게 작용했던 프랑스는 그 열정과 자부심으로 르네 래릭이라는 작가를 배출했다.

본 연구의 목적은 아르누보 양식의 장신구, 특히 르네 래릭의 작품을 분석하고 수준 높은 과거 장식 미술과의 만남을 통하여 21세기의 새로운 창작의 출발로 삼고자 하는 것에 있다.

연구 방법에 있어서는 르네 래릭의 장신구 작품의 배경이 되는 아르누보 양식의 특징을 살펴보고, 현대 공예디자인을 자립시키는 역할을 한 르네 래릭의 작품을 분석하였다.
특히, 르네 래릭의 작품연구 부분에서는 그의 작품세계에 원천(源泉)이 되는 작가 정신에 대해서 살펴보고 다양하고 광범위한 장신구의 세계를 형태적 특징과 재료적 특징으로 나누어 살펴보았다.
르네 래릭의 장신구와 현대장신구의 공통점은 장신구의 대중화와 예술적 위치의 확립을 꼽을 수 있다. 21세기의 특징이라 할 수 있는 실험적이고 자유로운 사고는 혁신적인 성격을 가졌던 아르누보와 상당히 닮아있다.

급속도로 발달된 과학과 기계문명 속에서 사람들은 자연에 대한 향수를 느끼게 되었고 보다 부드럽고 아름다운 문화를 찾게 되었다. 특히, 아르누보 장신구의 재료의 다양함은 기존에 가지고 있던 장신구에 대한 생각과는 달랐다. 디자인의 표현을 자유롭게 하기 위하여 소재의 가치를 재화(財貨)적인 기준에 두지 않고 다양하게 사용 하게 되었고 이 점이 대중들이 장신구를 쉽게 받아들이게 할 수 있는 변화를 부르게 된 것이다. 또한, 이런 자유로움은 예술가들의 독창적인 표현에도 일조(一助)를 하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Art nouveau style is the new art trend which applied fine arts movement, which was caused by the resistance against machine manufacturing in England in the mid-nineteenth century, made much in fashion from France, Belgie and other European countries to the whole world.
This style which was a fashion from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century have much influence on modern formative art though it short-lived.
Art Nouveau style in itself made much of ornamental points, therefore it tried to make everything of daily life artistic. It touched widely from small accessories to tableware, vase, clothes, printed matter, furniture, wall paper, poster, paintings, sculpture, theatrical art.
Art Nouveau's long and slipping down curve's softness affected a woman's dress ; it broke the principle of symmetry and gave the birth of accessories matching with those clothes.

Art Nouveau's artistic presentation was given the best in the personal ornaments and France, where Art Nouveau was more fashioned than other countries, gave birth to an artist, Ren？ Lalique, with passion and pride.

The purpose of this study is analyzing the works of Ren？ Lalique and making starting point of new creation through the contacting with past high level decorative art.

The method of study is to search the features of Art Nouveau style which was the background of the works of Ren？ Lalique and analyze the works of Ren？ Lalique who established modern industrial art design.
Especially, this study focused on artist's mind in Ren？ Lalique's works and searched various world of accessories by dividing it into two parts; formative feature and material feature.
The common features of Ren？ Lalique's works and modern accessories are popularization of accessories and establishment of artistic stand. Experimental and liberal thought, which is said to be as the 21th century's keynote, bears resemblance to renovational Art Nouveau.

In the fast developing science and mechanical civilization, people came to long very much for the nature and look for softer and more beautiful culture. The various material of Art Nouveau differed from existing concept about accessories. For the free expression of design, they started using various material, not just pursuing value as goods, which caused people to accept accessories easily. More than that, this kind of freedom is helping artists express originally.
