여기서 성격별로 분리되는 차이점은 F(Feeling)와 T(Thinking)형이다.

A birth of character means that an actor or an actress was born. That is as like as if an actor or an actress is selected in a real movie. As much as that, character design is very important. Because, character design, that is to establish a character, is a creative work in which it is combined with appearance and character most similar to the personage of a story.
Psychologists have argued triangle or square looked like a human being when it is mobilized. That is, they might represent the fondness between two figures if they got narrower each other, tracing or attacking if one ran after the other, and also fighting if one hit the other. If a look is drawn in that figure, it may look more human, and the expressions of joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure may be clearer. The example is also applicable to tree, stone, clouds, and shoes, i.e., almost every animal, plant and lifeless things existing in this world, besides of triangle or square. If a thing that can’t move is mobilized, and a thing that can’t cry or laugh is crying or laughing, it may look like a human. As like that, if we see the figures and lifeless things as moving living things, we may find the prototype of animation character.

This paper is aimed at making it more precise, delivery of the indigenous personality of character that is intended by the writer, through the eye expression of the character.
To do that, this paper analyzes the eyes mainly with American animation that is currently successful in Korea, and then classifies the eyes of characters per function based on the analyzed results, finally, presents the expression schemes to have effectiveness as communication. The analysis on characters’ eyes may be accessed in the following two directions.
First, the eyes of leading actor or actress and co-actor or co-actress are compared, classifying the characters by personality, in “MBTI personality type model”.
Second, the differences between leading actor or actress and co-actor or co-actress are analyzed, comparing the characters’ eyes in impressionistic viewpoint.

Accordingly, this paper is composed of Chapter 1 - Introduction, Chapters 2, 3, 4 - the body, and Chapter 5 - Conclusions, under the title of ‘Study on the eye expression of characters’.
In <Chapter 1, Introduction>, the background, objectives, method, and scope of this paper are discussed.
In <Chapter 2, Theoretical background of characters>, the concept and function of character are discussed, and based on the former discussion it is tried to understand the commercial characters’ appearance.
In <Chapter 3, Expression type of eyes>, the eye expressions of character are classified by physical type and structural type, based on Chapter 2, Theoretical background of character. In physical type, the character’s eyes are expressed, which is classified largely into two expressions, i.e., realistic expression and simple figural expression. In realistic expression, it is possible diversely to express personality, while in simple figural expression, looks can be expressed diversely.
In structural type, it is classified impressionistically. Generally, for the personage on TV or movies, an image variation is made in respect to good physiognomy somewhat consistent, via the eyes of consumers. Also in ‘Study on eye expression as image symbol’ of Oh, Keun - Jae, impressionistic discussion was used to classify the looks. Accordingly, this paper also structurally analyzes characters based on physiognomy.
In <Chapter 4, Example of characters’ eye expression>, animation characters’ eyes are analyzed through impressionistic approach with ‘MBTI personality type model’. Through the course, it is tried to demonstrate that the personalities among characters confronted against leading actor or actress are absolutely distinguished impressionistically.
In <Chapter 5, Conclusions>, the final conclusion is extracted with collecting the results from this study, and then the expression scheme of characters is presented.
First, a realistic depiction of leading actor or actress’ eyes via ‘character correlation graph’ is provided. The eyes of character, who is less correlated with leading actor or actress, is more simplified. Accordingly, it is more difficult in physiognomy to classify the simple figural expression, compare to the realistic depiction, furthermore, the personality is more simple.
Second, physiognomy may be arranged per personality type. Leading actor or actress has large eyes, sloe-eyed type, broad between brows, broad Land & House zodiac, yellowish white of the eye type, and arch eyebrows type. Meanwhile, co-actor or co-actress has small eyes, slit eyes, sloe-eyed type, narrow between brows, narrow Land & House zodiac, showing white of the eye up/down side of pupil type, adroit-minded eyebrows type, handlebar shape wrinkle between brows, or infra-orbital fold.
Third, leading actor or actress has personalities such as passionate, optimistic, creative, sympathetic, warmhearted, inventive, and extrovert, of ENFP in ‘MBTI personality type model’, while co-actor or co-actress has personalities such as plan maker type, logical, analytical, leader type, bottom-line type, planner type, and also extrovert of ESTJ. The difference distinguished by personality hereupon are F (Feeling) and T (Thinking) types. In case of F, he or she is the person who feels, being warm-hearted and friendly. Meanwhile, in case of T type, he or she is the person who thinks, behaving calmly and having endistanced personality.

Instead of restricting the material and expression to western, uniform style, if the traditional Korean material is developed with meeting the modern sense to embodiment sensuously, emphasized on domestic unique cultural tradition, it may rather achieve internationality, accordingly, Korean character industry will develop further.
