The purpose of this study is to prove the effect of ballet education beginning time and career on emotional quotient development.
The subjects of this study were from 11 to 18 age ballet educated students of a great city area in Korea. Using convenient sampling, 375 data were gathered and were analyzed. Age group was classified into 11 to 12, 13 to 14, 15 to 16, 17 to 18 group directions.
EQ was classified into self-expresstion, self-regulation, empathy and interpersonal relation variable.
The statistical methods utilized for testing the hypotheses were the frequency analysis, One-way ANOVA and Ducan test through SPSS WIN 10.0 program.
Conclusion from the results of this study are as follows.
1. Emotional Quotient according to age in factor of self-regulation ability and interpersonal relation ability had higher points for low age group.
2. EQ according to ballet education beginning time, in factor of interpersonal relation ability had higher points for early beginning time.
3. EQ according to ballet education career, infactor of self-expression ability and interpersonal relation ability had higher points for higher career.
4. EQ according to ballet education beginning time by age, in factor of self-regulation ability, interpersonal relation ability had higher point for early beginning time group at 13 to 14, 15 to 16 and 17 to 18 group.
5. EQ according to ballet education career by age, in factor of interpersonal relation ability at 13 to 14, 15 to 16 group and self-expression ability, empathy ability at 15 to 16 group had higher points significantly.
