다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

Onomatopoeia is the formation or use of words such as buzz and murmur that imitate the sounds associated with the objects or actions they refer to. It is widely employed in oral and literal versions both because its easy way of expression can help distinguish the slightest shades among things and because it can make our writing more forceful, lovely and vivid.
Korean as well as Chinese vocabulary includes a diverse onomatopoeic system. However, large discrepancies in word order, formations and phonology of the two languages cause many troubles for Korean learners of Chinese and Chinese learners of Korean as well.
This thesis uses sufficient instantiations to investigate the four aspects of Korean and Chinese Onomatopoeias: forms, phonology, grammar and semantics. It intends to crystallize the similarities and differences of onomatopoeias in the two languages, though each country is characteristic of their own cultural traits. This will be of great help for language learners to know how to use onomatopoeias effectively. It is also vital for us to understand the cultural gap between two countries.
Chapter two, starting from the definition of Onomatopoeia, explores various researches from such sources as Korean dictionaries, Chinese dictionaries and also some linguistic dictionaries. Meanwhile, it shows that the onomatopoeic phenomenon in grammatical field remains problematic. Chapter three mainly deals with the forms of Onomatopoeia. The distinct forms of Korean and Chinese onomatopoeia have been analyzed by means of onomatopoeic morphemes, syllables as well as word formations with the intention of tracing the similarities and differences in both languages. Then the unique cultural traits in the two countries' onomatopoeias are given out of the contrasts on their phonology. Consequently, the author thoroughly analyzed the different grammatical parts onomatopoeia has functioned within a sentence. Finally, a comprehensive semantic analysis on the relations between meaning and sound, meaning and language circumstances as well as semantic formation helps discover the quite distinctive semantic features of both languages.
The conclusion restates the similarities and differences of Korean and Chinese onomatopoeia in four aspects: forms, phonology, grammar and semantics and stresses that onomatopoeia is a reflection of cultural differences between two countries. Eventually, a good perspective on the development and research trend of Onomatopoeia (especially in tele-communication) has been mentioned.
