The goal of this study is to identify the effects on Assertiveness training on elementary school student's the power of self-expression, self-esteem and sociality.
The research questions which set up to achieve this goal were as followings;
First, A group that gets self-expression training will have a positive effect on expressing themselves than a control group that doesn't.
Second, A group that gets self-expression training will have a positive effect on promoting a self-esteem than a control group that doesn't.
Third, A group that gets self-expression training will have a positive effect on building sociality than a control group that doesn't.
To achieve this goal, 20 fourth grade students were selected from 80 students in 2 different class in an elementary school located in Dae-jeon, and a planned pretest which is involved in the power of self-expression, self-esteem and sociality was used. The students were divided into an experimental group and a control group to creat two homogeneous group of 10 students in low scores.
An experimental group gets self-expression training and a control group doesn't.
To identify a meaningfulness of difference in grades of a past-test, the data was analyzed through ANCOVA. The same test on pre-test was operated on post-test which is involved in the power of self-expression, self-esteem and sociality.
Through the result of this study, self-expression training had a positive effect on an improvement in Self-expression and a promotion of sociality.
Therefore, the ballying problem is deepening and gets grown a social problem. Especially, in the shortage situation of special counsels who teach students who have a lack of the power of self-expression, as an alternative plan, we need to consider how to apply self-expression training to school environment.
