인터넷 음란물 접촉과 청소년의 우울 및 자존감과의 관계연구 = (The) relation between the contact to pornography of teenagers and their depression and self-esteem

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 강원도 원주 시내에 소재한 인문계 고등학교 5개교와 실업계 고등학교 2개교의 학생 502명을 대상으로 인터넷 음란 사이트 접촉과 그들의 자존감과 우울감과의 관계를 살펴 보았다.
그 중 설문 조사에 성실히 임한 326명을 대상으로 자료 통계를 실시하였다. 조사 대상 학생 326명 중 성별에 따른 분포는 남학생 204명(62.6%), 여학생 122명(37.4%)이었다. 연령에 따른 분포는 만 16세가 145명(44.5%), 만 17세가 153명(46.9%), 만 18세가 22명(6.7%)이며 만 19세는 6명(1.8%)으로 나타났다. 학교에 따른 분포는 실업계 113명(34.7%), 인문계 213명(65.3%)이었다.
이 연구의 결과에 의하면 연구대상의 과반수인 52.8%가 중학교 1,2학년 때 인터넷 음란물을 접촉한 것으로 나타났다. 청소년들의 우울 성향은 음란물의 접촉 횟수가 많을수록, 접촉 시기가 빠를수록, 높은 것으로 나타났다. 청소년들의 음란물 접촉 시기가 빠를수록 접촉횟수가 길어지고 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 인터넷 음란물을 빠른 시기에 접촉할수록 중독성이 높아서 자주 그리고 길게 접촉하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 그리고 우울 성향이 높은 학생일수록 자존감이 낮은 것으로 나타났다.
인터넷 음란물의 접촉 횟수에 따른 자존감 수준의 차이와 일일 접촉 횟수간에는 유의미한 부적 상관을 보였지만 '초기 접촉시기'나 '일주 접촉횟수', '일일 접촉 시간'과는 통계적으로 유의미한 관계를 나타내지 않았다. 음란물 접촉 경험이 있는 학생 중에서 여학생이 남학생보다 우울 성향이 높게 나타났는데, 이는 인터넷 음란물 접촉이 특히 남학생보다 여학생에게 심리적, 정서적으로 더 예민하게 작용하는 것이라고 생각 할 수 있고, 특히 인터넷 음란물 접촉 경험은 여학생들에게 성에 대한 혐오감을 갖게 하거나 죄책감이나 수치심을 느끼게 하는 등 정서발달에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 나타낸다.
본 연구에서는 성에 대한 관심이 높아지고 성과 관련된 다양한 매체, 특히 인터넷을 통한 음란물을 접할 수 있는 기회가 많은 고등학생들에게 인터넷 음란물 접촉정도와 우울감과 자존감과의 관계를 연구한 결과 청소년의 부정적 정서인 우울감과 낮은 자존감이 인터넷 음란물의 접촉 정도와 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
인터넷 음란물의 무차별적인 확산과 함께 갈수록 지능화 국제화되고 있는 현실이어서 정부의 규제만으로 대처한다는 것은 현실적으로 한계가 있다. 따라서 인터넷 음란물이 청소년들의 정서에 끼치는 영향을 연구하여 청소년들의 건강한 성장을 위해 청소년 보호 위원회, 정보통신 윤리 위원회, 시민 감시 단체, 학교, 가정 등 사회 전반적인 대응책이 요구된다고 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, the relationship between the contact to pornography site and the self -esteem and depression of 502 students in 5 academic high school and 2 vocational school located in Wonju city is investigated.
The data from 326 subjects except the deficient ones are statistically analyzed. As to sex distribution of 326 students, boys are 204(62.6%) and girls are 122 (37.4%). As to age distribution, full sixteen years old are 145(44.5%), full seventeen years old are 153(46.9%), full eighteen years old are 22(6.7%) and full nineteen years old are 6(1.8%). As to school distribution, vocational school students are 113(34.7%) and academic school students are 213(65.3%).
In the result of study, more than half of students(52.8%) have initial contact to pornography on internet in the first or second grade of middle school. As for the depression of students, the more they contact to pornography, the higher level of depression they have. The earlier they have initial contact to pornography, the more frequent and longer they contact, which show that early initial contact to pornography lead to the severe addition to pornography and longer contact. The higher level of depression students have, the lower level of self-esteem they have and the lower lever of self-esteem, the higher level of depression.
As for the variation of self-esteem in accordance with the frequency of contact to internet pornography, the number of contact times per day show the meaningful relationship but 'initial contact time' and 'contact frequency for a week' doesn't show the meaningful relationship. Among the students who have experienced the contact to pornography, girl students show higher level of depression than boy students, which show that the contact to internet pornography have more effect on the mental and emotional state of girl students, compared with that of boy students. Especially, as for girl students, the experience of pornography lead to the negative effect on their emotion such as the aversion toward sex, guilty and shame.
In this study, we investigate the relationship between the contact to pornography and the depression and self-esteem of highschool students who have much interest in sex and many experience of pornography through various media about sex, especially internet. In the result, the negative emotion such as depression and low self-esteem of teenagers are heavily related with the level of contact to pornography through internet.
Considering the unlimited and global spread of Internet pornography, the measure of government have a limit in the reality of our nation. Accordingly, based on the study about the emotional effect of pornography on teenagers, for the healthy development of teenagers, the countermeasure of society at large including the commission on youth protection, information, communication ethics committee, citizen group, school and home are required.
