미래 핵심역량, 창의인성, 그리고 작문교육 대학글쓰기교육과 핵심역량에 대한 교수자들의 인식 연구 = A Study of the instructors` perceptions on university writing and key competencies

This survey study investigated writing instructors` perceptions on writing classes(college composition) and the issues of key competencies. Data were collected from 50 writing instructors from 30 universities. This study, first, found out that instructors highly perceived the importance and the necessity of writing classes; however, their evaluations on the level of students` writing skills and the quality of their writing education were relatively negative. Second, instructors set the purpose of the writing course at the high level of critical thinking for enhancing academic performances, but their classes mainly focused on teaching basic writing skills. Third, instructors perceived university writing had strong relations to many key competencies, such as communicative abilities and basic learning abilities. Implications and ideas were suggested for reforming university writing curriculum, emphasizing active adaptation of students` and the social needs through key competencies.
