Recently the conceppt of authenticity has made a big issue on the study of leadership. Without authenticity of a leader the effect of leadership nullifies the effectiveness of leadership for the followers. This study examines the effect of perceived authenticity toward leader on trust, value congruence, and team performance focusing on restaurant employees. 336 questionnaires from restaurant employees in the Busan, Ulsan, and Daegu area were gathered and analyzed using structural equation model with SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0. The results of hypotheses are as follows: First, authenticity perceived by followers has shown significantly effective toward trust and value congruence between leader and followers. Second, trust toward team leader has shown significantly effective toward team commitment. However, team performance and team creativity has not shown significantly effective. Third, value congruence has shown significalty effective toward team performance, team creativity, and team commitment. This paper make significant contribution by testing the concept of authenticity empirically.
