미중데탕트와 일본: 1972년 중일국교정상화 교섭의 국제정치 = US-China Detente and Japan: International Politics in the China-Japan Negotiation for Diplomatic Normalization

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This work explores Japan policies of both the United States and China in their negotiation for diplomatic normalization. The crucial factor that led to the road for the US-China detente was the role of Chou Enlai`s strategic decision with regard to Japan that should play a role of take part in the anti-Soviet coalition while distancing itself from Taiwan diplomatically. Chou pursued negotiation with the belief that the US-Japan security alliance could play a bottle-cap role of restraining Japan`s potentially dangerous military buildup.
