들뢰즈의 라이프니츠 읽기: 실체화 관계와 새로운 가능성 = Deleuze`s reading of Leibniz: the Substantial Bond and New Possibility

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 들뢰즈의 후기 철학에서 라이프니츠 철학의 중요성을 짚어보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히, 1988년 출간된 『주름, 라이프니츠와 바로크』의 탄생 배경으로, 프랑스에서 1981년 번역 출판된 라이프니츠의 『데 보스(Des Bosses)에게 보내는 편지』 서른일곱 편에 나타나는 ``실체화 관계(vinculum substantiale)`` 개념을 중심으로 살펴본다. 이 개념은 예정조화설에 입각한 라이프니츠의 ``닫힌`` 모나드론을 뒤집고, ``(반쯤)열린`` 모나드론을 가능케 하는 개념이며, 영혼과 몸의 실제적 결합을 위해 라이프니츠가 마지막으로 발견해낸 개념이다. 들뢰즈는 ``실체화 관계``, 간단히 줄여 ``빈쿨룸`` 개념을 후설의 소유 이론과 접목시키며, 이 개념이 지배하는 모나드와 지배받는 모나드들 사이의 힘 관계, 즉 포획과 예속의 관계를 설명하는 열쇠임과 동시에, 그로부터 빠져나올 수 있는 가능성을 포함한다는 것에 주목한다. 이것은 또한 예정조화로부터 빠져나올 수 있는 가능성이기도 하다. 천 개의 고원 에서 다루어졌던 노마돌로지와 결부시켜 들뢰즈는 라이프니츠의 ``빈쿨룸이 있는`` 모나드론을 ≪노마돌로지의 모나돌로지≫라 명명한다. 본 고에서는 라이프니츠에게서의 ``실체화 관계`` 개념의 탄생 배경 및 의미와 함께 들뢰즈가 이 개념을 사용하여 라이프니츠의 영혼과 몸의 실제적 결합 관계를 설명하는 방식을 정리하고, 그 의의를 『천 개의 고원』에서 이미 다루었던 몇몇 개념들과 더불어 찾아보고자 한다. 들뢰즈의 『주름』은 ``주름``이라는 테마로 라이프니츠와 바로크 시대의 과학, 철학, 예술에 공통인 새로운 가능성에 열려있는 세계를 그리고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to examine the importance of Leibniz`` philosophy in Deleuze``s works published after A Thousand Plateaus. It is focused particularly on the publication of thirty seven letters in Letters of Leibniz to Des Bosses translated from Latin to French in 1981, and on the concept of the ≪substantial bond (vinculum substantiale)≫ created in these correspondences which might have given Deleuze a certain motive for a part of his The Fold, Leibniz and the Baroque in 1988. This concept reverses the Leibniz`` ``closed`` Monadology based on the theory of pre-established harmony and makes possible a ``(half) open`` one. Helped by the Husserl``s theory of belonging (to Ego), Deleuze pays attention to the relation of forces between the dominant monad and the dominated monads and the concept of substantial bond as the key to explain its relation of capture and possession. At the same time, he also pays attention to the possibility of escaping from that relation and the pre-established harmony. Associating it with nomadology studied in A Thousand Plateaus, Deleuze calls this new monadology vinculum, ≪Monadology of nomadology≫. This papers also studies the philosophical context for Leibniz to introduce the concept of substantial bond, explaining Deleuze``s specific questions as to the union of the soul and body with vinculum in the letters of Leibniz. Some other concepts studied in A Thousand Plateaus are compatible with Deleuze``s way of explanation of that question in The Fold. The theme of ``fold`` shows us a new possibility, which is common to Leibniz and to the Baroque philosophy, science and art.
