인쇄 텍스트와 디지털 텍스트 문식 활동에 대한 초·중·고등학생들의 인식 연구 = A survey of student perceptions of literate activities related to printed and digital texts

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This survey study investigated Korean students’ perceptions on various literateactivities related to printed and digital texts. Data were collected from 2,147elementary, middle, and high school students.
This study found out that Korean students showed positive attitude toward digital textliteracy. Students preferred reading digital text to printed text, and they read moredigital text than printed one. However, students put higher value on reading andwriting printed text. Student perceptions on their reading and writing ability or thelevel of satisfaction of their literate activities were not positive. In addition, studentsrecognized their teachers showed different attitude toward printed(positive) and digitaltexts(negative). Gender difference were broadly presented in this survey and femalestudents had stronger preference and interest in digital text than male students.
Findings and discussions point out that various modes and levels of texts should beused in secondary literacy classes in consideration of the needs and characteristics ofstudents as readers and writers. Implications and ideas were suggested for furtherresearch in the relation of recent emphasis on using digital texts in literacy classes.
