사진을 통한 면접에서 나타난 유아들의 일상성 탐구 = Listening to Children's Everyday Life through Their Own Photographs

The everyday life at an early childhood education center could be repeated over and over again. The repetition of unimportant and trivial matters might make children and teachers get tired. However, on the other hand, without insignificant matters, there is no way to encounter with important learning experiences. The purpose of this study was to listen to children's stories about their own photographs. Children expressed their thoughts and feeling about their everyday life easily during photo-interview session. They could explore and add new meanings to their environment, including themselves, their own families, early childhood education center and so on.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

유아의 하루 일과는 사소한 일의 연속일 수 있지만 이러한 반복적인 일상에 대한 반성과 고찰은 유아를 이해하는데 있어서 매우 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 유아들의 일상을 돌아보기 위한 수단으로 사진 찍기와 사진-면접이라는 연구방법을 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사진을 찍는 이유는 다양했다. ‘그냥’ 찍는 경우도 있었지만 같은 대상이라도 여러 번 다르게 찍어보는 경우도 있었고 좋아하는 대상만 골라서 찍는 경우도 있었다. 또한 다른 유아와 친해지고 싶은 마음을 담거나 하고 싶은 활동을 사진으로 담기도 하였다. 둘째, 면접을 진행하는 과정에서 유아들의 일상에 다가갈 수 있었다. 주도적으로 면접을 이끌어가는 유아들도 있었으며 면접과정에서 창의적인 생각을 펼쳐 보이기도 하였다. 무엇보다도 자기 자신에 대한 이야기, 가족에 관한 이야기, 그리고 어린이집에 관한 자신의 생각을 풍부하게 표현할 수 있는 계기가 되었다.
