소설 텍스트의 장 분할에 대한 텍스트언어학적 연구 = The text linguistic research on the chapterdivision of novel texts

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper attempts to illuminate the macro-structures of novel texts by analyzing the chapterdivision which is very distinctive property of novel texts. In novel texts, it makes linear structures rather than hierarchical structures and is intended by writer with some text/discourse strategies. Therefore the chapter-division should be treated as the important parts of the macrostructure. Also the chapter-division has relation with the informativity of the textualities. The informativity is usually low in the head part and is high in the ending part of the chapter. And it corresponds to the information structure of the sentence. However the chapter- division can be used for some special narratives in mystery novels. Additionally, the chapter markers have some functions in novel texts.
