      The purpose of the study is to develop design principles for promoting interactions among teachers and students participating in Collaborative Videoconferencing of Global Engineering Education. The Collaborative Videoconferencing has been conducted from the spring semester of 2011 to the spring semester of 2013. From the educational scene, field problems had been analyzed and the design principles as solutions had been based on them. By recursively applying developed design principles to a learning management system (LMS), the final design principles were suggested. After 4 times of expert validification, 8 general and 24 specific design principles to promote interactions in accordance with the stages of teaching were suggested. The major principles are following. In before class stage, collaboratively planning on video-lecture, sharing interests of all the students from different universities, providing learning material and tools, and making participants feel closer are suggested. In middle of class stage, checking understanding of each university`s students and designing activities provoking learners` participations are suggested. Finally, In after class stage, providing opportunities for collaborative learning and collecting feedbacks about the management and the learning environment are suggested. When applying the design principles to the classroom environment, assigning one of the participating teachers as a coordinator was proven to be beneficial. In the coming future, study investigating the practical effect of the Collaborative Videoconferencing on learning is needed.
