애착이론의 내적 작동 모델과 상담적 적용점 = Internal Working Model of Attachment Theory and Its Therapeutic Applications

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 애착이론에서 가장 중요한 이론적 개념으로 인정받고 있는 내적 작동 모델은 Bowlby가 처음 제안한 이후 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 발달심리학과 인지 및 사회심리학 분야에서 이루어진 연구를 통해 내적 작동 모델은 애착의 안정적인 유지와 변화 및 세대간 대물림의 핵심적인 기제로 밝혀지고 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 상담과 심리치료를 위한 중요한 시사점을 갖고 있음에도 불구하고, 국내에서는 아직 내적 작동 모델과 관련된 연구성과를 심리치료 및 상담과 연결시킨 연구가 부족하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 내적 작동 모델 개념과 관련 연구의 상담적 적용점을 살펴보기 위해 적응을 위한 전략으로 저장되는 내적 작동 모델, 다양한 기억체계에 따른 모델의 유형 및 내적 작동 모델의 구조에 관한 이론을 제시하고, 이를 토대로 구체적인 상담적 시사점을 논의하였다.

Internal working model has been regarded as one of the most important theoretical concepts in the attachment theory. Much research has been done since Bowlby first introduced the concept. Based on the research conducted in the area of developmental psychology as well as cognitive and social psychology, this concept has been found to be the key mechanism through which the maintenance of and the change in attachment stability as well as intergenerational transmission of attachment patterns occur. Although relevant research findings have many important therapeutic implications, little effort has been made to link research findings concerning internal working model to psychotherapy practice. Thus, this study aimed at exploring theoretical applications of the internal working model concept and theories. For this purpose, internal working model stored as rules for adaptation, levels of the model based on different memory systems, the structure of internal working model were reviewed, and specific therapeutic applications were discussed.
