홉스와 개인 그리고 개인주의 = Thomas Hobbes Individual and Individualism

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Many scholars have attempted to analyze Hobbes theory by connecting individualism. These attempts could be useful to understand Hobbes thought. However, the thought that Hobbes individuals are linked with modern autonomous individuals and radical individualism which libertarians insist, has lots of problems. Furthermore, the assertion that Hobbes is the founder of individualism has a disregard of historical context. Because, Hobbes individualism has the character of methodology to cope with the absence of common power, and to drive Leviathan from the state of nature. Hobbes individual is not a subjective and independent individual. It is just a object of legal application after the alienation of rights. Although it is true that Hobbes individual possesses the important position of history of individualism, it is not began at Hobbes.
