미혼 남성 도박 중독자의 어머니 경험

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 도박의 저 연령화라는 최근의 사회 현상 하에서, 도박 중독자 아들을 둔 어머니의 경험을 심층적으로 탐색함으로써 그들의 경험의 의미와 본질을 이해하고 이를 기반으로 실제적인 개입의 방향성을 확인하고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구의 참여자는 미혼의 남성 도박 중독자를 아들로 둔 어머니 9명이었다. 2012년 1월부터 9월까지 심층면접을 통해 자료를 수집하였고, Colazzi의 현상학적 분석 방법을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 미혼 도박중독자 아들을 둔 어머니의 경험은 ‘사실을 외면한 채 맹목적으로 아들을 믿다’, ‘한 몸처럼 비난과 아픔을 함께 감당하다’, ‘모든 게 내 탓이라는 죄책감을 떠안다’, ‘반복되는 고통과 절망으로 서서히 지쳐가다’, ‘아들을 살려야 한다는 책임감으로 버텨내다’의 5개 주제로 구성되었으며, 이들의 경험의 본질적 구조는 ‘보이지 않는 탯줄로 연결된 아들을 부둥켜안고, 도박이라는 뻘밭에서 함께 뒹굴다’인 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to deeply understand the experiences of mother of addicted gambler, and thus we are able to definitize how to provide practical and helpful intervention for them. The research participants consisted of the 9 mothers of unmarried men who has gambling addiction. The research data created by the in-depth interview between January and September, 2012. The analysis of the data was made Colaizzi’s phenomenological analytic method. Five categories that emerged from themes cluster were; 1) blind faith in son with hiding her head in the sand, 2) becoming a target of criticism and suffering hardship together like one in body and soul, 3) feel guilty that everything is my fault, 4) getting tired of living gradually with continuous pain and hopelessness, 5) withstanding on the very last her strength with responsibility to take care of her son. Meaning of experience of them is that “Rolling together in mud flat of gambling, with embracing her son who is connected by umbilical cord not seen”.
