후기 산업시대 문화기반 도시재생 전략에 관한 연구 = 랜드마크를 활용한 도시개발 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구는 산업사회 및 후기 산업사회의 도시 랜드마크를 활용한 도시재생 사례를 조사하고, 도시의 산업화에 따른 환경오염과 산업의 쇠퇴에 직면한 도시들이 후기 산업화 과정에서 시도하는 도시재생의 기본방향들을 유형화하고 있다. 이는 지역사회가 도시 마케팅 차원에서 진행하고 있는 ‘대형 범선(Big Flagship)’ 효과를 차용한 문화기반 도시재생의 시대적 변천 및 상호연관성에 대한 사례조사로서, 도시재생을 지역사회에 기초해 소단위로 진행하는 수복형 방식과 도시개발기업의 신도시 조성으로 대표되는 개발형 방식으로 이분화 되는 현상을 다루고 있다. 도시 산업구조의 개편과 문화적 도시개발 모형이 가져온 도시공간조직의 재편에서, 기업형 대규모 개발이 진행되는 거시적 도시재생과 커뮤니티 디자인 또는 지역 커뮤니티 참여를 통해 진행되는 미시적 접근이 어떻게 지역주의 또는 국가주의에 기반해 도시경쟁력을 제고할 수 있는지에 대한 논의를 포함한다. 또한 도시재생 사례들에서 도시사업의 참여 주체들의 역할을 살펴보고, 동 시대의 도시개발사례들에서 문화기반 도시재생의 사회적 효과 및 한계를 고찰하기 위해 대상도시의 방문객 자료를 토대로 국가, 도, 시, 및 근린주구 차원에서 문화기반 도시재생의 지속성과 랜드마크 건축물의 상관관계를 분석하고 있다. 이는 지구촌의 지자체들이 거주자의 삶과 방문객의 유치에 초점을 ‘생산’ 과 ‘소비’의 양향가치를 동시에 추구하는 커뮤니티 업그레이드, 즉 ‘차별화된 장소성’의 국내 도시에 대한 적용가능성 및 시사점에 대해 논의를 확대하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Urban regeneration with cultural and economical strategies for post-industrial redevelopment of abandoned city centers as well as brownfields is issues in terms of physical, environmental and socio-economical intervention in order to provide urban competitiveness to local community. This research consists of case-studies on urban renewal, rehabilitation, and regeneration with theoretical oxymoron between urban entrepreneurism of globalization and critical regionalism of local autonomy. Studies are based on political context in variable scales such as supra-nation, nation, province, city, neighborhood that could re-energize local provocateur to take huge risks implementing ‘Big Flagship’ with public funds and private initiatives in aspects of either macro urban regeneration and renewal of declined industrial zones or micro participatory renovation of lapidated communities. It analyzes the financial structure of the cases including Bilbao, Valencia and Zaragoza that addresses stakeholders? role for social and physical program in the surveyed projects and then it insinuates possibilities of landmark effects in Seoul with statistical analysis.
