This study aims to explore the postcoloniality, reflect the content of Elementary Social Studies and search for more effective ways to write it through the analysis of the textbook. For those purposes, it examines the postcoloniality of the textuality in the case of 6th grade 2nd term unit 2 which is concerned with global and cultural studies like as world geography, world history, international politics and economics, society and culture, environment, and science etc.
This study focuses on the followings. First, it explores the relationship between postcoloniality and Elementary Social Studies. Second, it analyzes the postcoloniality in textuality on the basis of the degree of adoption categorized in four patterns, orientalism, ideology, hegemony, adoption of imperialist eye and colonial mimicry.
In the theoretical background, it considers the concept of the postcoloniality and the relationship between postcoloniality and Social Studies. And then through the text analysis it tries to apply the perceptions about postcoloniality to education.
