근대 이후 이순신 인물 서사 변화 과정의 의미 연구 = The Process of Change about the Story of Admiral Lee Soonshin after the Modern Enlightenment Times

This study aims to survey the story of Lee Soonshin who was a Korean hero in the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 as told through the history of Korean textbooks. I think that the story of this hero has changed and been influenced for the purpose of education, the times and circumstances. I searched for the story of Lee in the textbook called YUNEONPILDOK(幼年必讀: the the meaning is that children must read) written by Hyeon Chae in 1907. This text focused on the facts of the Japanese invasion and other heroism. These narrative methods have reflected the thoughts of historical people in the modern enlightenment times(1895～1910). During the period of the Japanese colonial rule(1910～1945), I found only once mention of Lee Soonshin. The text was a travel essay written by Lee Gwangsu. This text recorded MUNYEODOKBON as written by Lee Yunjae. This text was connected with the affair that Lee Soonshin`s remain`s were sold at auction in 1931. During the time of the so-called syllabus(1945-1955), there were various narrations of Lee Soonshin. Especially, the marked changes were made in forming the Korean Government. During this time, Lee Soonshin`s narration was focused on grandeur or tragic beauty.
