국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 예비유아교사들의 다문화교육에 관한 인식 및 태도와 효능감에 관해 알아보고자 수행 되었다. 이를 위해 경기도와 인천시 소재 두 개 대학 유아교육과에 재학 중인 1학년과 3학년 학생 총 257명을 대상으로 질문지 조사를 실시하였다. 이 연구를 통해 밝혀진 내용은 첫째, 학생들이 전반적으로 다문화교육에 대한 관심이 아직은 그리 많지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학생들은 문화적 다양성을 포용하는 태도를 더 많이 지니고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학생들의 ‘다문화 효능감’의 전체적인 평균 점수는 3.24로 ‘보통 정도’인 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해서 볼 때 학생들이 다문화에 대한 인식을 더 높여야 할 뿐만 아니라 다문화교육 효능감에 대해서도 효능감을 제고할 수 있는 다양한 교육프로그램이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 또한 학생들이 다문화 현장의 경험을 통해 다양한 경험을 할 수 있는 현장 지향 교육프로그램 개발이 적극 모색되어야 할 것이다.

This study examined pre-service early childhood teachers’ awareness and self-efficacy about multicultural education. The research questions for achieving the purpose are as follows. First, How are the degrees of general awareness and experience of pre-service early childhood teachers on multicultural education? Second, How is the overall awareness and attitude on multicultural education of pre-service early childhood teachers? Third, How is the relation between awareness and self-efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers. The subjects of this study were 257 pre-service early childhood teachers located in Incheon city and Kyunggi Province, who were answered to the questionnaires. The questionnaires contained three types 64 statements. The data were analyzed by χ², t test and correlation. The results are as follows: First, on the basis of above, with respect to the reliability data, it is apparent that pre service early childhood teachers’ survey is adequately reliable. Second, those who feel the need for multicultural education to understand people from different countries were more than half of the respondents. Third, the pre-service early childhood teachers showed insufficient experience in multicultural education for students. Fourth, the awareness about multicultural education and multicultural self-efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers shows a significant difference. key words: pre-service early childhood teacher, multicultural education, multicultural awareness, multicultural self-efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers shows a significant difference.
