미국 교사 교육 기관 다문화교육 교육과정 사례분석 - Washington대학교와 George Mason대학교 사례를 중심으로 - = The Analysis on Multicultural Education Curriculum Practices of College of Education in The U.S. - In Cases of Washington Univ and George Mason Univ -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은, 미국 교사 교육기관 대학원에서 실시하는 다문화교육과정 운영 사례를 분석하여 시사점을 얻고, 이를 바탕으로 우리나라 교사교육기관에서 대학원 다문화교육 전공과의 효과적인 조직과 운영을 실행하기 위한 토대마련에 기여하는 데 있다.
목적달성을 위한 연구의 내용으로, 먼저, 미국 교사교육기관 대학원 다문화교육전공 교육과정 사례분석을 위한 논의로서 ‘다문화교육’의 의미, 미국 교사교육기관 다문화교육의 배경, 다문화교사교육의 필요성, 다문화교사 교육기관 교육과정 운영에서 주요 요소 등을 서술하였다. 둘째로, 미국 시애틀 소재 워싱턴 대학교와 버지니아주 패어팩스 소재 조지메이슨 대학교의 대학원 다문화교육과정(조지메이슨 대학교에는 ‘다중언어 및 다문화교육’전공과가 있음) 석·박사과정 체제 및 목적, 강의 주요 내용에 대한 비교·분석을 실시하였다. 셋째로, 분석결과를 중심으로, 다문화교육 전공 석·박사과정 체제 및 목적 , 강의 수, ‘다문화교육’과 ‘언어교육’영역의 강의비중, 다문화교육개론 강의, 다문화교육과정 요소별 강의 비중, 다문화학생 지도, ‘다양성’이해, 이중언어 및 다중언어 교육, 소수계 출신 저자의 저서활용, 다문화교육정책, 다문화특수교육, 다문화학교 현장실습과 다문화학생을 돕는 자원봉사제도 시행 등의 측면으로 나누어 교사교육기관 대학원 다문화교육 교육과정의 효과적인 조직과 운영을 위한 방향을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Multicultural education curriculum practices of College of Education in The U.S. , with being based on the cases of Washington University(W Univ) and George Mason University(G Univ), were analysed. The Purpose of this study is to make a contribution to build up the foundation of multicultural education curriculum in Korean teacher college through analysis on the cases of multicultural education curriculum practices of graduate school in The U.S. In order to achieve this purpose, firstly, ‘the meaning of multicultural education, historic background of multicultural teacher education in The U.S., needs of multicultural teacher education, main factors in multicultural education curriculum in teacher college were written. Secondly, multicultural education curriculum Practices of graduate school between two Universities were analysed. Thirdly, the making direction of multicultural education curriculum in Korean teacher college with results of analysis was proposed, in the viewpoint of systems, goals, course diversity, relation between multicultural education and language education, Introduction to multicultural education, using articles written by minority writer, main contents of courses in multicultural education, and etc.
