유치원 교사의 과학교수효능감에 따른 과학 교수 실제 및 유아의 과학 행동 = A Qualitative Study on the Relationships among Kindergarten Teachers' Science Teaching Efficacy, Teaching Practices and Children's Science Behaviors

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유치원 교사의 과학교수효능감에 따라 과학교수 실제 및 유아의 과학행동이 어떠한 특성을 보이는지를 알아보기 위한 것이었다. 과학교수효능감 검사도구 STEBI(Science Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument)를 토대로 선정된 과학교수효능감이 높은 교사 3명과 낮은 교사 3명 및 그 학급 유아를 대상으로 심층 면접, 관찰 및 관련 자료를 수집, 분석하였다. 그 결과 과학교수효능감이 높은 교사들은 과학 교육에 대해 나름대로 확고한 방향성을 가지고 적극적으로 실천하고자 하였다. 그러나 이들이 지향하는 과학 교육의 방향과 교수실제는 교사에 따라 각기 달랐으며, 이에 따라 유아의 과학 행동 또한 다른 양상을 보였다. 과학 교수 효능감이 낮은 교사들은 공통적으로 과학을 선호하지 않고 과학교육에 대해 특별히 생각해 본 적이 없기 때문에 과학활동을 많이 하지 않았으며 유아들 또한 활동을 자발적으로 확장시켜가지 않았다.

This study identifies the relationships between kindergarten teachers' science teaching efficacy beliefs, science teaching practices, and children's science behavior. Three teachers with high science teaching efficacy beliefs, three teachers with low efficacy beliefs and the students of both were the subjects for this qualitative analysis study. Results revealed that reacher's high efficacy, appropriate teaching practice, and children's active behaviors were positively related with each other. One highly efficacious teacher with appropriate goals and positive attitudes about science teaching tried inquiry oriented science teaching practices and allowed students to actively participate in science activities. However, two other teachers with high efficacy and three teachers with low efficacy did not positively effect their students' science behavior.
