This study investigates the use of reading activities employing anti-bias stories as a means of changing the attitudes of young children toward children with disabilities. In this study, 116 young children comprised 2 experimental and 2 control groups. A child with disabilities was placed in each class. The 116 subjects were administered pre and post test and participated in an individual interview. While no program was provided for the control group, the experimental group was provided 8 weeks of program. The program consisted of reading activities using fairly tale and parent tasks. The results were as follow: 1) A statistically significant difference was found between experimental and control groups in attitudes toward young children with disabilities supporting the thesis that the attitudes of young children can be altered through reading activities featuring fairly tales. 2) Significant difference was found between experimental and control group in their recognition of the social roles available to young children with disabilities again supporting the thesis that attitudes about disabilities can be altered through planned reading activities.
