포스트모더니즘적 유아교육관 고찰 = A Study of Viewpoint of Early Childhood Education in the Post-modernism Era

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 포스트모더니즘과 유아교육과의 의미 연관성을 고찰해보기 위해 포스트모더니즘 관점에서 유아교육의 목적과 내용 및 방법을 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 포스트모더니즘의 특징은 이성중심에서 탈피하는 것, 역동적 상호작용의 중시, 절대주의와 보편주의로부터 상대주의의 지향, 다양성과 다원성의 존중, 고정되고 획일화된 틀에서 벗어나 융통성과 자율성을 갖는 것 등으로 요약할 수 있다. 포스트모더니즘적 관점에서 볼 때 유아교육과정의 구성과 운영에서 가장 특징적인 것으로 꼽아야 하는 것은 '정해진 틀'에서 벗어나는 일이다. 또한 상호의존성과 역동성을 통한 성장과 발달에 관심을 두어야 하며 이를 위해 열린교육이 요청된다는 점이다. 아울러 포스트모더니즘적 관점이 현행 유아교육의 이론과 실천에서 결코 생소하지 않다는 점을 지적하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the goals and principles of early childhood education from a post-modern perspective. The chief features of post-modernism noted as an emancipation of reason-oriented thinking, an emphasis on dynamic interaction, a preference of relativism, and a respect of variation, flexibility, and self-regulation. From such a post-modern perspective, the most important elements in organizing and operating early childhood education would include the deregulation of pre-programmed educational frameworks, a concern for the growth and development made possible through mutual dependency and interaction, and an orientation to open-education. The post-modernist view, while generally described in realms outside of early childhood education, are nonetheless relevant to early childhood education's current goals.
