유아의 정서 기능 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발 및 평가 연구 = The Development and Evaluation of A Program to Increase the Emotional Intelligence of Young Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 Mayer와 Salovey(1977)의 정서지능 개념에 입각하여 유아의 정서지능 향상을 위한 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과에 대하여 평가하였다. 본 프로그램은 3, 4, 5세 유아를 위하여 유아교육기관에서 다루는 주제에 따라 일과운영 속에 정서지능을 위한 활동요소가 통합되도록 구성하였다. 정서의 인식과 표현, 정서에 의한 사고촉진, 정서의 활용, 정서의 조절 4영역의 교육목표가 활동 내용과 교사의 상호작용 방식에 반영되도록 하였다. 본 프로그램의 평가결과 교육집단이 비교집단보다 정서지능의 4영역에서 모두 향상된 것으로 나타났으므로 정서지능 향상을 위하여 유치원 교육에 통합 실시한다면 유아교육의 질적 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

In this study, we developed and evaluated an emotional intelligence program based on the concepts and components of Mayer & Salovey's emotional intelligence theory. The program is developed for three, four, and five-year-olds in kindergartens and daycare centers. The components of emotional intelligence are integrated into the daily activities in accord with the themes of kindergarten curriculum. Educational objectives of ermtional intelligence in four areas-emotional identification and expression, emotional facilitation of thinking, utilization of emotional knowledge, and regulation of emotion-are emphasized and reflected in the content of activities and the way of teacher's interactions. This program is effective for the improvement of young children's emotional intelligence.
