유아 교사 교육에서 수업사례 활용에 대한 고찰 = Using the case and case methods in early childhood teacher education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문에서는 최근 교사 교육에서 많은 관심을 끌고 있는 수업사례에 대한 개념과 역사를 살펴보고 이를 활용할 수 있는 방법을 제시한 후 그 효과에 대한 논의를 하였다. 수업사례란 교수 상황에서 실제로 일어난 사건에 기초한 서술식 기록을 의미하며 이미 의학이나 법학과 같은 다른 전문 영역에서 많이 사용되고 있는 것이다. 유아 교육에서 수업사례를 활용하는 이유는 유아 교사들의 수업내용에 대한 지식을 증가시키고, 문제해결 및 의사결정 능력을 향상시키며, 교사 개인이 가지고 있는 방법지(know-how)를 개인화된 이론으로 승화시키기 위한 것이다. 유아 교사들은 수업사례를 쓰고, 읽고, 공동으로 토론하는 과정을 통하여 이와 같은 목적을 달성할 수 있다. 유아 교사 교육에서 수업사례를 활용하는 문제와 관련하여 몇 가지 제한점과 앞으로의 연구를 위한 시사점을 함께 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores the use of cases and case methods in early childhood teacher education in terms of their history, the rationale for their use, and the manner in which they are used in teacher education. Cases refer to narratives of real teaching situations. They therefore provide accounts of authentic teaching contexts which can be used for a number of pedagogical purposes. For example case narratives are used to increase problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities. They might also be used to assist in developing teachers' personal philosophical stances or to increase their pedagogical content knowledge. These goals are achieved through writing about, reading, and discussing cases in light of the particular objective to be attained. Limitations of the case and case methods are discussed here are implications for further studies in teacher education.
