동화에 기초한 토의 및 확장활동이 유아의 대인문제해결능력에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Teaching with Storybooks and Storybook-based Activities on Young Children's Interpersonal Problem Solving Abilities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 동화를 통한 토의 및 확장활동이 유아의 대인문제해결태도와 사고능력에 미치는 영향을 알아 보기 위한 것으로 대전광역시 소재 W유치원 만 4∼5세 유아 52명을 대상으로 하였다. 28명의 통제집단 유아들에게는 유치원에서의 교육활동을 그대로 실시하는 한편 24명의 실험집단 유아들에게는 본 연구의 의도에 맞는 주제의 동화와 이 동화를 토대로 한 토의 및 다양한 확장활동을 포함하는 수업을 13주간에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 연구결과, 통제집단과 실험집단 유아들의 대인문제해결태도와 문제해결사고에 있어서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 실험집단의 유아들이 통제집단의 유아들보다 사회적으로 바람직한 대인문제해결태도를 가졌으며, 대인문제해결사고력도 증진되는 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to find the effects of teaching with storybooks and storybook-related activities (discussions, dramatic play, arts-crafts, group games, etc.) on young children's interpersonal problem solving skills. The subjects were fifty-two 4 and 5-year-old children from W kindergarten in Daejeon. The subjects were divided into experimental (N=24) and control (N=28) groups. The children of the experimental group participated in storybook-centered curriculum including various extension activities. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS-PC+; t-tests were also conducted. The results were as follows : Firstly, there were significant group differences in mean scores of teacher-related interpersonal problem solving behaviors with the score of the experimental group being higher than that of the control group. Secondly, there were significant differences between the two groups in the attitudes and reasoning of interpersonal problem solving. The children of the experimental group showed more socially desirable problem solving strategies and could devise a wider range of alternatives for problem solving.
